How to remove gouache from clothes?

Before cleaning the carpet from gouache, check the reaction of the selected cleaning agent with the textile surface of the product. This can be done in an inconspicuous area on the wrong side. To effectively clean paint stains, use one of the following effective methods.

Method 1

Fresh gouache stains are easiest to remove before they dry out and are absorbed. The product should be washed under running cold water, following the following procedure:

  1. Lather the product with laundry soap.
  2. Leave it for 15-20 minutes for the chemical reaction to occur.
  3. Rinse the stained area with cold running water.
  4. If necessary, repeat the cleaning process until the stain disappears completely.

Important! You cannot use hot water to wash the product, since at high temperatures the adhesive elements of the paint thicken, and the process of removing them becomes more labor-intensive. Block “How we work, everything is beautiful.” But not readable.

Method 2

It is good to remove gouache stains with Stork Bos+ bleach, because this product contains the maximum amount of active oxygen, and therefore has a delicate effect on the fabric and its color.

Before removing gouache stains from clothes using this cleaning product, you must carefully read the instructions for use and select the required dose of the active substance.

To achieve the best possible result, proceed as follows:

  1. Dilute the product in the required amount of cool water.
  2. Beat it until a thick foam forms.
  3. Soak the contaminated item in the resulting soap solution.
  4. Leave it soaked for 2-3 hours.
  5. Rinse the product thoroughly under running water.

Important! To achieve a better effect, you can wash the product in a washing machine using the same product.

Method 3

Unstuck paint is removed using a mixture of ammonia and oxalic acid:

  1. Mix the substances in a 1:1 ratio.
  2. Apply the mixture to the stained area.
  3. Leave it like this for 20-30 minutes.
  4. Remove the mixture under cold running water.
  5. Wash the item in the washing machine using powder and stain remover.

Method 4

If, after cleaning using the above methods, the gouache mark is not completely erased, then it must be treated with a more aggressive cleaning agent. The following provides detailed instructions on how to remove gouache from a carpet using chemical-based solvents:

  1. Take gasoline, white spirit or nail polish remover.
  2. Soak a cotton swab in the chemical solution.
  3. Apply the cleaner directly to the stain.
  4. Moving from the edges to the middle, carefully wipe away any traces of paint.
  5. Wash the product in soapy water.
  6. Wipe the carpet thoroughly with clean water.

Important! This cleaning option is suitable for products made from natural, but not synthetic, fabrics.

Linoleum care

Despite its practicality and reliability, the material requires special care. Follow the recommendations to maintain your linoleum floor:

  1. Protect against squeezing by putting pads on furniture legs or placing rubber plates to reduce the load.
  2. Cover the linoleum floor in the hallway with rugs to trap as much dirt as possible.
  3. Do not expose the floor to prolonged exposure to sunlight: linoleum will fade.
  4. Do not drag heavy objects along the floor to avoid damaging the material.
  5. Before wet cleaning, sweep and locally treat stains with a soft brush.
  6. Do not use aggressive substances on the surface - organic solvents, abrasives, alkalis, acids.

Cleaning the floor with soapy water

Linoleum can be wiped with soapy water. Rinse off the soapy layer and wipe dry. Use sponges and soft rags (microfiber, wool). Do not scrub the surface with steel wool, blades, or mops with sharp corners. Do not use large amounts of water. It is better to do dry cleaning a couple of times a week than once a week with wet cleaning.

Important. It is not recommended to wash new linoleum with water for a month after installation.

During this time, the material must “rest” and take the required shape.

Features of the material

Linoleum is made from polymers applied to fabric. Depending on the binder, there are five types of material:

Rubber-based linoleum is called relin. The most accessible and cheapest is linoleum made from foamed PVC. Often two layers of polyvinyl chloride are used, between which fiberglass is laid. A bright pattern is applied on top of the polyvinyl chloride, which is covered with a transparent, protective layer.

Each type of linoleum has its own qualities

In addition to being cheap, flooring has a number of other advantages:

  • strength;
  • functionality;
  • ease of care;
  • long service life.

Due to its dense structure, linoleum is a good heat and sound insulating material.

Modern linoleum imitates wood and is practically no different in appearance from laminate.

In the store you can find corrugated linoleum with fancy patterns or plain light flooring that will fit into any interior.

How to remove a gouache stain from a carpet?

To remove gouache from the carpet, you can use special powders for cleaning carpet surfaces:

  1. Dilute a special powder in a basin or bucket and whip up soap foam.
  2. Apply the foamed substance to the gouache-contaminated area of the carpet.
  3. Gently clean the stained area with a soft-bristled brush.
  4. Dampen a rag with clean water and gently rinse any remaining foam from the carpet.

If your carpet is light in color or has a large pile, Amway SA8 will help you.

Important! This stain pre-removal spray can be used to remove stubborn stains from all types of fabrics.

Use the composition according to the following instructions:

  1. Spray the liquid onto the stained area.
  2. Wait a little.
  3. Remove the spray with a damp cloth.

Furniture cleaning

If fabric furniture has also become an area where gouache hits, then the same methods are used. Apply foam to the contaminated area and rub with a brush. In this case, the brush should not have hard bristles. This will damage the fabric, then even if the outcome is successful, the appearance will be ruined. Remains of dirt and foam are washed off with a clean cloth.

If the furniture is wooden, then you do not need to scrub with a brush. Even non-hard bristles can scratch the varnish. A damp sponge will be able to remove marks because the stain will not eat into it as much as it would on fabric. After cleaning, use a wood care product.

Wallpaper damaged

If the little “fidget” managed to play with painting the wallpaper, then everything depends on the scale of the “catastrophe”. It is worth noting: the paint on a wall with wallpaper cannot be washed off. If the paint is applied to a small area, you can move the chest of drawers or finish painting something. If the wall is smeared, you will have to re-glue it.

We need to look at it on the positive side. They still couldn’t begin the cosmetic repairs; the child only helped them decide.

Helpful Tips:

  1. Remember that fresh stains are much easier to remove than old ones.
  2. If the product has been treated with products that have a strong odor, it is advisable to rinse it in clean water with the addition of aromatic substances and dry it in fresh air.
  3. When you use chemicals, you must not forget about personal protective equipment - rubber gloves, a respirator, etc.
  4. Work should be carried out in well-ventilated areas.
  5. When working with such paints, it is advisable to use sleeves and an apron so that you don’t have to think about how to wash gouache from the carpet or things.
