In this case, the buttons indicating a failure in the “Rinse” and “Spin” modes and the door lock indicator will start flashing. Indesit fault codes - interpretation of errors
For washing machines produced this century, the fault symbols are identical. The codes (there are 19 of them) are deciphered the same way regardless of whether Indesit has a display or not.
F-01 – problem with the washing machine motor.
The error is caused by a lack of mains voltage , a breakdown of the motor, or a breakdown in communication between it and the Indesit electronic module. With this code, the set mode does not start, the drum does not rotate.

- Uc.
A low voltage value or a break in the line cause incorrect operation of the Indesit engine up to a complete stop. The integrity of the plug, power cord, socket, and the reliability of the contacts are assessed. Uc is measured using a multimeter (the device should show at least ~ 215V). - Mechanical part of the engine.
If, when the voltage is turned off, the Indesit motor turns with difficulty or the shaft cannot be rotated, the cause of the error is jamming. Occurs when the bearing is destroyed, lubricant runs out, or is heavily contaminated.
- Electrical part of the washing machine.
- Windings: if there is a short circuit to the Indesit body or between themselves, the multimeter will show R=0, if there is a break, ∞.
- Condition of the brushes. Increased wear causes error F-01 Indesit to appear.
- The fault may be in the control module. The reason is the triac.
F-02 – incorrect operation of the Indesit engine.
The data entering the electronic unit is distorted. The Indesit washing machine turns on, but the drum does not spin, and a characteristic hum is heard.
Check what
- brushes .
- Contacts of the electric motor , tachometer sensor.
- Motor windings . The error may be a consequence of an interturn short circuit. With such a malfunction, the washing machine motor does not reach the design mode.
- Condition of Indesit internal wiring (lines connecting the speed sensor to the electronic module). The error is caused by an open circuit or short circuit in the circuit.
- Tacho sensor. The voltage supplied from it to the board should not be lower than 0.2 V. It increases with increasing speed of rotation of the drum. Malfunctions cause this Indesit error code.
- Electronic module. Error F-02 Indesit is a consequence of a triac failure or a problem with the board (dust, dampness).
F-03 – no signal from the water temperature sensor.
With such an error, Indesit the washing cycle stops immediately after starting the washing machine - heating is blocked.

Break, unreliable contact, short circuit: after fixing the problem, the error code is cleared. - Sensor _ For simple testing for short circuit or internal break, you will need a multimeter. The device will show resistance = 0 or ∞. The Indesit error can be eliminated by replacing the temperature sensor. It is not difficult to find - it is in the heating device. Thermistor indesit
Correct operation is determined by the reaction of the thermistor to a change in t0. A working device at room temperature has R about 2 kOhm, at 50 0C about 1.3. It cannot be restored, it changes.
F-04 (07) - codes indicate a lack of water in the washing machine.
The difference is that error 04 indicates a malfunction of the level sensor, and F07 indicates a problem with the fluid supply to Indesit.

- Water pipes . Perhaps there is an accident on the highway and the supply is temporarily interrupted. It is easy to verify by opening the cold water valve of any of the mixers available in the house.
- Cleaning filter.
- Hose connected to Indesit. A clogged cavity blocks water from flowing into the washing machine.
F-05 – the problem is related to the drain.
With this error, the Indesit washing machine does not spin or rinse the loaded laundry. You must remember that there is water remaining in the tank, and perform an emergency drain before diagnostics

Supply voltage (presence, magnitude), button contacts, signal circuits for open circuits or short circuits.
F-08 – Indesit error reports
about the impossibility of completing the washing process due to lack of water heating. In 95% of cases, the malfunction is associated with a breakdown of the heating element.
Check what
- Heating element (resistance multimeter). Overheating occurs due to scale if attention is not paid to the issue of softening the liquid and regular cleaning of the heating element body.
- Connection on the line thermistor - heating element.
- Level sensor.
- Water supply to the washing machine.
It is not recommended to use Indesit with this code - the error is critical.

F-09 – problem with the control module (memory error)
The washing machine does not respond to commands. If rebooting the Indesit electronics does not help, you will need to replace the unit or flash the processor.
F-10 – error says
about a violation with water flooding. The washing stops after the tank is filled - the sensor reports that the machine’s capacity is empty.
Check what
- Water supply, pressure in the system.
- Filter, position of shut-off valves (the tap may be closed), supply valve.
- Pressostat. The sensor is located under the top cover, in the left corner, at the top. The Indesit error is a consequence of a clogged impulse tube (blow out) or deformation of the plastic, a violation of the signal circuit, or a malfunction of the sensor. If dirt has stuck to the membrane, lightly tapping the housing on a hard surface temporarily restores performance. If the sensor microswitch is faulty, repair is not possible - the housing is non-separable and must be replaced.
It is easy to check the operation. The multimeter probes are connected to the contacts, and the port is clamped with the lips. When inhaling and exhaling, the resistance changes from 0 to ∞, and characteristic clicks are heard.
F-11 - the symptoms of this Indesit error are similar to code 05.
But the reason is clear - the pump does not work. The washing machine does not spin or drain clothes.
Check what
- Supply voltage at pump contacts.
- Drain filter for performance.
- No pump jamming due to shaft rotation.
F-12 – an error informs about a violation of “visibility”
between the control panel and the electronic module (“brain” Indesit). If rebooting (simultaneously pressing the START and ON buttons) does not help, and the signal circuits are not damaged, contact service.
F-13 – 15 – errors
only for Indesit with drying function. Appear during the transition from the spin mode to the final stage.
13 – malfunction of the drying temperature sensor.
14 – breakdown of the heating element.
15 – problem with the heating element relay.
In washing machines without dryers, errors indicate a malfunction of the display or control module.
F-16 - error for Indesit
with vertical loading informs about incorrect data from the washing machine drum parking sensor. Signs - Indesit does not start washing or stops without finishing the program.
Check what
- Drum rotation.
- There are no foreign objects in it that cause blocking.
- Hatch position when opening Indesit. If it has shifted and become deformed during washing, contact a service workshop. The misalignment of the hatch blocks rotation, hence the washing machine error.
F-17 – code appears
if the Indesit hatch does not close tightly (for Indesit with the “light door” function). The switch does not operate and the module does not receive a signal that the washing machine is ready.
Liquid is not drained from the tank
If the water does not drain, the reasons for the malfunction of the Indesit washing machine lie in a non-working pump or in the absence of a control signal. If the pump breaks, it will have to be replaced. Perhaps the absence of a control signal is due to a malfunction of the pressure sensor (a constant signal that the tank is empty) or a malfunction in the control unit. You need to check for blockages in the drainage system components - hose and filter. This is probably why the pump cannot remove water.
The pump winding may be broken or there may be no power supplied to it. This means that you need to check the connection circuit between the pump and the ECU with a multimeter, as well as the integrity of the pump winding. In working condition, its resistance should be in the range of 160–180 Ohms. If the pump is working properly, you need to check the serviceability of the ECU.

Malfunctions associated with the pressure switch and heating element
There are several reasons for such malfunctions:
- lack of water in the inlet line or low pressure;
- clogged inlet hose or filter;
- failure of the filling valve;
- heating element malfunction;
- breakdown of the pressure switch (constantly gives a signal about an empty tank).
In most models of washing machines, the heating element has the same shape
In any of the above situations, the liquid does not heat up, or the heating element does not turn on. It is necessary to carry out diagnostics sequentially:
- inlet line;
- water pressure sensor;
- state of contact connections;
- control unit;
- heating element.
The heater in working condition has a resistance of 25–30 Ohms, it can be checked with a multimeter. A faulty pressure switch indicates that the tank is empty, although it is full.
The cause of the breakdown may be that the relay does not turn on the heating element. In this case, the serviceability of the relay is checked. You should also check whether the heating element has burnt out. The integrity of the contacts in the connectors and cables may be damaged.
If the sunroof lock light is blinking
One of the common problems is the door lock lamp blinking. At this time, the machine may not start, work or stop in the middle of the cycle, the door cannot be opened.
This problem can happen for several reasons:
- the tamper protection function is activated (parents often turn on the Child Lock mode to protect the device from curious kids who may accidentally mess up the program settings);
- no water flows into the machine;
- the hatch door is not completely closed;
- failure in the control program (this problem usually occurs due to power outages or power surges);
- the door lock does not work;
- The heating element is faulty (with this breakdown, the machine continues to operate, only washing takes place in cold water).

Problems with water entering the tank
This malfunction of the Indesit washing machine occurs when there is a shortage or overflow of liquid into the tank. There may be several reasons for the error:
- lack of water or low pressure;
- flush operation when water is filled;
- malfunction of the computer or display module;
- water pressure sensor malfunction.
Permanent draining is possible if the drain hose is not raised above the level of the tank. You can also check the water supply yourself. In other cases, you need to call a specialist.
The washing program selected on the control panel is not recognized
With this malfunction, code F06 occurs. This error is typical for AFM with EVO-II control systems. It does not appear in the Indesit AVD and AVL series. The reason may be erroneous operation of the control panel keys or a violation of the integrity of the contacts in the connectors of the connecting cables.
You can check the buttons for operation with a multimeter. For example, the contacts on the pins of the buttons are short-circuited when pressed - this means that the resistance between them is zero. At rest, the resistance is equal to infinity (break). If there is a malfunction, the resistance values will be different. The cables and connectors leading to the control unit are also checked.
