Water, vinegar and soda are the best and most affordable cleaning aids

In this article we will tell you how to properly make pop from soda and vinegar at home.
Our recipes will help you enjoy the taste of carbonated drinks and improve your health. At first glance, the preparation technology is simple - combine soda (alkali) and vinegar (acid) in water to saturate the solution with carbon dioxide. But in order to get not just bubbling water, but a tasty drink, it is important to maintain the proportions of the ingredients and choose the right concentration of vinegar.

Attention! When choosing vinegar for fizz, it is better to give preference to organic apple cider vinegar - it has a softer, fruitier taste, and will saturate the drink with microelements, vitamins, and beneficial organic acids.

When baking soda and vinegar are mixed, they create a foam that can be used to remove rust, mildew, grease, and dirty stains.

The disadvantage is the smell, but it can be easily removed with plain water or short airing.

We fight blockages

Hair and food debris clog your kitchen and bathroom pipes. Special products solve this problem, but at the same time cause allergies and spread a toxic odor that causes coughing and watery eyes. So use vinegar and baking soda. The method is notable for the fact that the cleaning agent is prepared directly in the pipe.

Instructions:

  1. Pour half a cup of baking soda and the same amount of vinegar down the drain.
  2. Close the hole with a stopper and do not use the sink for several hours.
  3. When the allotted time has expired, remove the plug and pour water heated to 90 degrees into the pipe.

Important: Strictly follow the proportions; vinegar and soda should be used in equal parts.

Benefits and contraindications

The popularity of soda pop in our country began back in the 90s. She was credited with many medicinal properties, many of which turned out to be myths. But I really wanted to believe that from the simplest products that are in any kitchen, you can make a drink that can overcome serious and even incurable diseases.

And yet, thanks to its chemical composition, sparkling soda has a certain positive effect on our body. The drink has proven itself well as:

  • Homemade mineral water to quench your thirst;
  • An effective hangover remedy that reduces nausea and headaches;
  • A quick way to get rid of heartburn and restore the acid-base balance;
  • An aid to weight loss that normalizes metabolism and helps remove excess fluid from the body.

Important! To obtain the maximum effect, you must strictly adhere to the quantities of ingredients indicated in the recipe and adhere to the recommendations for taking the fizzy drink.

The use of fizzy drinks is strictly prohibited:

  1. People with gastrointestinal diseases and peptic ulcers, especially during exacerbations
  2. Women during pregnancy and lactation
  3. Persons suffering from diabetes, hypertension, heart disease
  4. Children under 3 years old

But, even if you do not have the contraindications listed above, you need to pay attention to how the body reacts to the effects of sparkling soda. Also, you should not drink it constantly; it is important to observe moderation.

Cleaning the microwave oven

The microwave oven gets dirty very quickly and should be washed after each use.

Method 1 - for old and stubborn stains:

  1. If the contamination is too strong, take 2 tbsp. l. vinegar and pour them into a bowl of water.
  2. Place this container in the microwave oven and turn it on for 10 minutes. Steam with acid will quickly remove all stains, and all you have to do is wipe the surface with a napkin.

Method 2 - for medium dirt:

  1. Dried splashes are removed using the same principle. 1 tbsp. l. Add a spoonful of baking soda to a bowl filled with 400 ml of water.
  2. Start the oven for 3 minutes.
  3. Remove greasy stains.

Tip: If the surface of the microwave oven is covered with enamel, then use vinegar as little as possible.

Recipe for soda and vinegar pop for heartburn

Baking soda is alkaline and neutralizes excess hydrochloric acid, which causes heartburn. The benefits of apple cider vinegar include the comprehensive regulation of digestive processes, normalization of enzyme production and acid-base balance.

Important! The use of effervescent heartburn is allowed as an emergency remedy for pain in the stomach or esophagus. If you experience persistent symptoms of burning and discomfort, you should consult a doctor. Heartburn is a consequence of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Constant use of fizzy drink will not eliminate the cause and without treatment the disease will worsen.

For preparation you will need the following ingredients:

  • ½ glass of warm drinking water;
  • ½ tbsp. spoons of 6% apple cider vinegar (½ teaspoon if using 9% table vinegar);
  • ½ teaspoon of soda.

Mix all ingredients and drink in small sips, without waiting for the bubbles to disappear. It is recommended to take this drink no more than once a day. If heartburn returns, be sure to consult a doctor.

Getting rid of plaque in the kettle

Even the highest quality electric kettle is not immune to limescale deposits. As a result, the heating time increases, the device deteriorates, and the taste of the water becomes bitter. To avoid this, pour water into the kettle, add 100 ml of vinegar to it and turn on the device. Do not pour out the solution after it boils. It is advisable to leave the mixture overnight so that all the scale dissolves. You can do the same with soda (just slightly changing the proportions). For this we need 3 tbsp. l. soda and 1 liter of water.

Important: After cleaning with vinegar, wipe the kettle with a soda solution and rinse 3-4 times, each time removing drops with a dry cloth. Otherwise, the tea will taste like vinegar for a couple of days.

Precautionary measures

Alkalis and acids are aggressive substances, contact with which can cause burns to the skin or respiratory tract. Use 70% vinegar essence especially with caution. Before preparing the solution, it is diluted with water to obtain table vinegar with a concentration of 9 percent.

To avoid harm to health, follow safety precautions:

  • put on rubber gloves;
  • clothing must have long sleeves;
  • you need safety glasses and a respirator.

Before working with chemical components, open windows to ensure ventilation of the room. Do not add other substances to the mixture used. The reaction may result in the release of toxic fumes and gases. If part of the solution gets on the skin or mucous membranes, it is necessary to rinse the area with cold running water.

Washing the dishes

An eco-friendly lifestyle is not just a fashion statement, but a concern for your health. You can replace synthetic dishwashing detergent with a safer analogue. A damp sponge dipped in soda effectively removes soot, soot, tea stains and yellowness. If unattractive stains remain on your crystal glasses after washing, rinse them in water with vinegar added. This method will make the dishes sparkle and destroy pathogens.

Sequence of mixing components

Unfortunately, many housewives do not know how to extinguish soda correctly and are confused about the sequence of connecting the components. To choose the most correct option, it is advisable to consider in detail the process of the reaction occurring. In the process of extinguishing soda with acetic acid in a separate container or spoon, intense bubbling with foaming occurs. During this reaction, carbon dioxide and sodium carbonate are released abundantly.

If the reaction occurs outside the dough, the carbon dioxide is wasted, leaving only sodium carbonate instead. It causes a soapy taste in finished products. However, by performing the soda extinguishing operation correctly, this effect can be avoided.

The procedure for extinguishing soda with vinegar:

  1. Mix baking soda with flour and other dry ingredients.
  2. Mix vinegar, which acts as an acid, separately with the liquid ingredients of the recipe.
  3. Combine liquid and dry ingredients.

It should be remembered that if the dough contains any acidic products - yogurt, sour cream, lemon juice, buttermilk - adding vinegar is not advisable. The necessary reaction will occur by itself, providing the finished product with airiness.

When baking soda and vinegar are combined, intense foaming occurs.

Removing stains from the sofa

Unpleasant odors, stains from coffee, fruits and juices - all this can be removed with a homemade product:

  1. To 0.5 liters of water add 150 ml of vinegar, 1 tbsp. l. soda and 100 ml of alcohol.
  2. Pour this mixture into a spray bottle and spray on the sofa.
  3. After 15 minutes, scrub the stain with a brush and then blot with a clean, damp cloth.
  4. Dry and vacuum the sofa.

Tip: Use baking soda separately for dry cleaning of furniture.

Cleaning the kitchen sink

Remove all dishes from the sink and clear the drain as much as possible of food waste and other debris. If the water no longer leaves the sink at all, it needs to be scooped out to ensure access of the reagents to the clogged area. Dissolve a glass of soda with three glasses of boiling water and pour it into the drain hole. Add a glass of hot vinegar after half an hour. The mixture must act for at least 8 hours. To prevent carbon dioxide from escaping, plug the drain with a rubber stopper.

To remove a deep-seated blockage, you will need twice as much reagents. Mix 500 g of soda with 600-700 ml of very hot water and pour into the drain hole. After 10 minutes, add 1 liter of vinegar, tightly plugging the drain. Be careful, as the reaction will be violent and splashes will fly in all directions. After 2 hours, open the tap and rinse the sewer pipe with hot water for a few minutes.

To avoid clogging the pipes with a sticky coating of grease and dirt, the sink should be cleaned systematically. Before starting treatment, it is necessary to mechanically clean the sink drain from food debris.

It is impossible to get rid of a clogged pipe with fish scales using chemicals.

The drain is closed with a rubber stopper, hot water is poured in, and half a glass of soap shavings is added. After half an hour, the water is poured out. After this, the sink is easy to clean. If dark spots have formed on the walls, rub them with a sponge soaked in vinegar. Minor limescale deposits can be removed by rubbing with soda. To soften denser deposits, they are first moistened with vinegar, left for half an hour, after which, sprinkled with soda, they are treated with a brush. Half a glass of vinegar poured into the sewer pipe helps get rid of the unpleasant odor.

Washing the tiles

Cleaning the tiles and removing dirt between the tile joints is not difficult:

  1. Pour half a glass of soda into a bowl, add 2 tbsp. l. vinegar, lemon juice and water.
  2. Apply the product to the brush and scrub the tiles, paying special attention to dark joints where mold forms.
  3. Then simply wipe the surface with a clean cloth.
