Features of makeup with rhinestones and glitter

When preparing to create a radiant makeup look, first of all, understand how one type of glitter differs from another. Three main types can be distinguished.

1

Shimmer

This term refers to any beauty product that contains very small shiny particles with a reflective effect. Such shining pollen can be contained in lipstick, highlighter, blush, and nail polish.

2

Glitter

Larger, compared to shimmer, shining particles that are visible to the naked eye. Glitter can be either crumbly or liquid. Look for it in varnishes, glosses, lipsticks and eyeliners.

If you are going to do makeup using rhinestones, it is best to place them in the temple area and the inner corners of the eyes. Firstly, the makeup will turn out very impressive, and secondly, there is a high probability that the rhinestones will not fall off ahead of time.

1

Apply the eyeshadow base to the entire eyelid and blend towards the eyebrows. Use a highlighter to highlight the inner corner of the eye and the brow area.

3

Apply a glitter base along the eyelashes and, using a small brush, carefully transfer loose glitter onto the resulting arrow. Place a cotton pad folded in half under your lower eyelashes to prevent glitter from falling under your eyes and onto your face.

4

In the temple area, attach large rhinestones to a glitter base or to eyelash glue if you want to ensure maximum durability of your makeup. Eyelash glue is completely safe for both the skin of the eyelids and the skin of the face. For convenience, use eyebrow tweezers or a stick with a silicone tip, like those used by manicurists.

Before you start gluing the rhinestones, use a matching lipstick color (ideally, the shades of lipstick and glitter should match). Lipstick should be long-lasting, with a matte texture - rhinestones will literally glide across the glossy surface. Then apply clear eyelash glue and, before it has time to dry, lay out the rhinestones. Important: try not to stretch your lips during application!

How to properly use rhinestones and glitter in makeup?

Nowadays, you can decorate any part of the face and body with rhinestones and glitter: eyelids, eyelashes, lips, cheekbones, temples or collarbones - use your imagination! But first, learn how to properly apply and remove rhinestones and glitter.

How to glue rhinestones or glitter?

Using glitter and rhinestones at home is not that difficult. Ideally, you need glue from the arsenal of professional make-up artists, but you can do it with improvised means.

To glue rhinestones or large glitter, you will need a special glitter primer (for example, NYX Professional Makeup has one). The second option is to use glue for false eyelashes: it will also do the job perfectly.

If you plan to decorate fairly large areas of the face or body with glitter (for example, neckline or shoulders), you can use regular Vaseline as a base for loose pigments. It will hold glitter perfectly, and in addition, the skin will receive additional care. Hair styling gel and hand sanitizer will also help keep even large shiny particles in place perfectly.

The following trick will help you decorate your eyebrows or hair with glitter. Mix some hairspray with loose glitter and then apply the mixture to your hair. The same composition can be used on eyelashes, but with caution: make sure that the varnish does not get into your eyes.

To create a dramatic, luminous lip look, use a creamy lipstick and then apply loose pigments with your fingers or a synthetic bristle brush. It's unlikely that lipstick will be able to hold large shiny particles or heavy rhinestones, but fine glitter will do so.

Whenever possible, always set your glitter with a setting spray. Paradoxically, it will be easier to remove it later.

How to remove glitter?

Glitter removal is a two-step process. First, go over the skin with the adhesive side of the tape: it will collect the bulk of the glitter. An oil-based makeup remover or vegetable oil - coconut, olive (by the way, it is most convenient to remove glitter from hair) will help remove the remaining, most persistent particles. Apply it to a cotton pad or cotton swab and carefully remove the glitter.

As for removing rhinestones, it all depends on the glue you used. If the glue was latex-based, you can easily remove the rhinestones without using additional tools (just try not to scratch the skin with your nails!). In other cases, you will need a special cleanser, such as a false eyelash remover gel.

Advice! To prevent glitter falling from your eyelids from settling on your face, always place a napkin under your eyes.
