How to make slime or slime at home

PVA is one of the main components when making slime at home. It is enough to add a thickener into it and that’s it - the slime is ready. By adding all kinds of ingredients, you can turn it into fluffy slime, butter slime, hand gum, make it glow in the dark or move behind a magnet.

There are often articles on the Internet on how to make slime from PVA glue. Not all of them are successful, and some are not working at all. Below are the best recipes for such a popular and beloved toy.

Brief description of PVA and its types

PVA is a combination of an aqueous emulsion of polyvinyl acetate with various plasticizers and additives. It has a white color and a weak characteristic odor. PVA Features:

  • withstands deformation when drying;
  • does not crystallize;
  • mixes with water;
  • non-toxic;
  • elastic;
  • soluble in organic acids;
  • does not burn.

The scope of application varies depending on the additives present in it. There are several options for PVA:

  1. Household (wallpaper) . It can be used to glue paper-based wallpaper to walls. Frost-resistant (down to -40˚С). Holds paper well.
  2. Universal (PVA-MB). It has the ability to glue not only paper, but also wood, leather, and cardboard. Frost resistance down to -20˚С.
  3. Stationery (PVA-K). The most common office adhesive. Does not have frost resistance. More liquid in consistency than wallpaper.
  4. Super glue or improved universal glue (PVA-M). It is used during construction work. Frost resistance reaches -40˚С.

Any of these types is suitable for making slime at home. You just need to take into account the characteristics of each of them. [su_youtube url=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7PMplPHo3E”]

How to handle the toy and where to store the slime

If the PVA slime doesn’t work out, most likely it’s all due to incorrectly selected proportions; you can try to change them experimentally. Slime, made strictly in accordance with the instructions, is easily removed from the container and has a homogeneous, elastic mass. If lumps are visible here and there, the product must be further kneaded.

If the slime is very sticky and gets your hands dirty after every game, then it should be diluted with a liquid component from the composition. The diluent can be water or liquid starch, which is most often one of the ingredients. But even here it is worth observing moderation: too liquid slime will seep through your fingers. In such cases, on the contrary, flour, PVA glue or borax solution are added, depending on the composition.

There is a funny property of slime that not many people know about. If you place it in a tightly sealed container with water and put it in the refrigerator overnight, then in the morning you will find that the mass has increased in volume; the slime will simply “grow.” Surely any child will want to do this on their own.

As for storing the toy, it is best to leave it in a tightly sealed container in a cool room or refrigerator. If you neglect these recommendations, your homemade slime will simply dry out. Therefore, after each game it is important to take care of its safety. If the slime begins to dry out, you can revive it, but it is much easier to make another one of a different color with the addition of foam balls, glitter, mother-of-pearl, and so on.

Recipes with PVA

In order not to waste time and ingredients, you should choose working PVA. There are many brands of this glue, but not all work equally well with thickeners.

The following are great for slimes:

  • Ray;
  • Berlingo (Berlingo);
  • Erich Krause (Erich Krause);
  • Elmer's;
  • Navigator;
  • Brauberg;
  • PVA-M Extra Lakra.

Non-working brands include:

  • Attache;
  • Junland;
  • Staff;
  • Lakra;
  • Star Wars.

When tetraborate is added, they either do not thicken at all or turn into a curd mass, unsuitable as a base for slimes.

The best homemade slimes are made from fresh, thick glue. If the PVA separates into fractions, then it is lost. It will be difficult to make something worthwhile out of it.

Which one is best?

Now about what kind of glue is needed. These brands are working accurately and tested:

  • PVA glue Stolyar Moment;
  • PVA Berlingo;
  • PVA Brauberg;
  • PVA Erich Krauser;
  • PVA Contact;
  • PVA Novohim;
  • PVA Attomex;
  • PVA Omega;
  • PVA Beam;
  • PVA-M;
  • PVA Kores;
  • PVA Cone;
  • PVA Every day;
  • Dandy;
  • PVA Andex;
  • PVA Stick Up;
  • PVA 365 days;
  • PVA Elmers;
  • PVA-K19;
  • PVA VGT;
  • PVA Lakra;
  • PVA Deli;
  • Beam Yellow;
  • PVA Titan;
  • PVA-K;
  • White House PVA glue.

The following brands are considered unsuitable for making slimes:

  1. Attache cannot mix with tetraborate and begins to coagulate into flakes.
  2. Inteks . It curls into a very unpleasant mass, which quickly collapses and sticks a little to your hands.
  3. Cullian . A strange mass comes out, similar to cottage cheese.
  4. Hatber . The result is too hard a slime that does not curl at all.
  5. Brauberg (liquid only). Cannot interact with any thickener.
  6. Firm 96 . Does not interact with thickeners, while curling into a strange curdled consistency.
  7. Office space . The mass sticks to your hands, instantly falls apart, and is not particularly pleasant to look at.
  8. Norman . It also turns out to be an incomprehensible curdled mass.
  9. Lakra . It does not cope with the interaction with the thickener at all. If you pour in a thickener, it begins to curl into a very dense lump that does not stretch or wrinkle.

PVA-M Luch

It is one of the most frequently used when making slimes . The composition of the glue is very ordinary, that is, it is simply thick and white.

When the glue begins to act with activators, the reaction becomes noticeable almost immediately. A very dense lump begins to form, which in its own way immediately begins to resemble slime. When mixed, it immediately becomes clear that the glue is definitely suitable and this is what is needed to prepare ideal anti-stress for hands.

Universal Moment Joiner

It has a very thick composition, therefore, before creating a slime using this glue, you need to pour water in a ratio of 1 to 1 . And after this procedure, the glue becomes much more suitable for making the perfect slime.

And the best and most viscous ones are obtained if you add a little shampoo or any liquid soap to them, because they soften the slime and it becomes much more pleasant to the touch and stretches better.

Attache

This brand of glue is incredibly attractive because it is a mixture of alkali with silicates such as sodium and potassium. In this regard, the glue is called “Liquid glass”. The consistency of the glue is quite thick, and the color is crystalline. With this glue you will get an excellent colorless slime.

When the thickener is poured in, the result does not take long, as the mass quickly thickens and becomes more stretchy. The result is a slime that can stretch quite a lot without breaking, and it also makes cute sounds when you play with it.

Does Berlingo work?

This brand has not been tested and did not perform well when used for our purposes. Despite the fact that the consistency of this glue is very thick, but, to our great chagrin, the glue does not want to help.

When mixed with some activator, the glue begins to change its composition and turns into an unpleasant cheesy mass. If you take the mass in your hands, you feel that it is very oily.

Building

In recipes for preparing various slimes, they often write or talk about the use of construction glue. One of these, called “Alina,” can be confidently classified as a glue brand that works well in manufacturing. And also PVA glue “Stolyar”. With these brands of glue you can get excellent quality slime.

When the activator is added, the mass immediately begins to thicken, which indicates that the slime should be obtained. And also to create slimes, you can buy not only these brands of glue, but glue that will be very similar in composition to the above. Unfortunately, most types of construction glue end up producing a runny slurry with lumps.

Only PVA and tetraborate

The simplest slime recipe made from PVA glue and tetraborate allows you to get a toy in just a few minutes. You will only need:

  • PVA – 85 ml;
  • sodium tetraborate – 2-3 drops.

PVA is poured into the container and a drop of tetraborate is added. The glue will instantly begin to curl. You need to knead the mixture for a minute. If it remains liquid, add another drop. Sodium tetraborate is a very active thickener. If you pour too much at once, you can ruin the toy. When the glue has curled enough and stops sticking to the walls of the container, you should knead the resulting slime with your hands.

Without sodium tetraborate

A soft, sticky PVA slime without tetraborate can be made using the following ingredients:

  • PVA – 85 ml;
  • shower gel – 1 tsp;
  • Teymurov spray – 15-20 sprays;
  • toothpaste – 1 pea.

First of all, you should pour out all the glue in the bowl, add a little toothpaste, a spoonful of shower gel. Mix all ingredients until smooth. You need to thicken gradually: make 3-5 sprays, mix, then repeat this procedure. You need to add spray until the mixture stops sticking to your hands. If you want to make the toy brighter, you can add a little food coloring or gouache. This slime clicks loudly, flows smoothly, has a pleasant texture, and stretches perfectly.

Flour slime

You will need: flour, natural dye, cold and warm water.

THREE Slime WITHOUT GLUE from FLOUR / HOW TO MAKE HANDGAM without sodium tetraborate AND GLUE

Slime made from PVA and Persil

Persil washing gel can be used not only for its intended purpose, but also as an excellent thickener for slimes. For this recipe you will need:

  • PVA – 85 ml;
  • shampoo – 1 tbsp. l.;
  • water – 1 tbsp. l.;
  • Persil – 1-2 tsp;
  • glycerin - 1 tsp;
  • dye.

Mix shampoo and water in a container, and then pour PVA in there. Due to the foam formed by the shampoo, the glue will become more airy. Now you can tint it in the chosen color and make it more attractive by adding a spoonful of glycerin. You need to thicken the mass gradually: first pour in one spoonful of Persil, stir and, if necessary, add more. The slime according to this recipe is viscous, crispy and pleasant.

Slime with shampoo

A good fluffy slime can be made from PVA Luch glue and shampoo. The list of required ingredients looks like this:

  • any shampoo - 2-3 tbsp. l.;
  • PVA from Luch - 50 ml;
  • tetraborate - 2-3 drops.

Pour shampoo into a container and lather it with a sponge. It will work like shaving foam, making the slime voluminous. Pour glue into the resulting foam. Stir the mixture until smooth. If you want to color the slime some color, then it’s time to add dye. Lastly, the thickener is introduced. Carefully, one drop at a time, so that the slime does not turn into a rubbery hard mass.

The recipe for slime made from Luch PVA glue with sodium tetraborate is quite simple but effective. Airy slime made in this way is very cool and is not inferior in its properties to purchased ones.

Ingredients for making slime

The original slimes, which appeared in the 1970s and 80s, were made from sodium tetraborate (a salt of boric acid) and gum (a natural material). Over time, manufacturers tried to reduce the cost of the process and began to add other ingredients to give elasticity to the product. Slime with glue today comes from China, but PVA is also suitable for making toys at home.

PVA glue is an emulsion of polyvinyl acetate with water. When a thickener is added to it, a chemical reaction occurs, the mass hardens and becomes elastic. When kneading, liquid is released, which is drained.

Do-it-yourself slime is made from glue with the addition of other components. These include:

  • Detergents, shower gel, shampoo . These ingredients are required to give the toy a jelly-like consistency. They dissolve in water and act as a thickener.
  • Shaving foam . The slime made from glue and foam is elastic and airy. The foam is light and porous. The adhesive polymer holds its structure. The finished slime is crispy and keeps its shape.
  • Salt, soda, starch . These natural components are harmless and add volume to the viscous mass.
  • Cream, toothpaste . Cosmetics and hygiene products have a thick viscous structure and a matte, rich shade. When combined with glue, you get a thick slime that looks like marshmallows.
  • Stationery glue . It plays the role of an activator and imparts transparency to the finished product.

In addition to the required components, slime made from PVA glue includes additional elements: glitter, foam balls, dyes, small toys.

Important! Knowing how to make slime from glue, you will get a toy that looks like a store-bought one. PVA gives the product elasticity and a dense, viscous texture.

Slime with toothpaste

A simple recipe that even a beginner can do, includes only two ingredients:

  • PVA - 1 tbsp. l.;
  • gel toothpaste - 2 tbsp. l.

If you use colored paste, you can make spectacular bright slime even without dye. Please note that it must be gel. This recipe won't work with regular pasta.

First of all, you need to squeeze the paste into the container, and then gradually add glue in a 2:1 ratio. The ingredients should be mixed until smooth and placed in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes. The texture of the resulting slime is soft and elastic. It can be easily rolled into a ball, because it holds its shape perfectly and does not spread. If the mixture remains sticky after refrigeration, it is better to let it sit a little longer with the lid open so that the excess liquid evaporates.

Rules for caring for slime

Handgams need to be washed regularly. In order for it to retain its elasticity, it must be stored correctly. It is advisable to wash your hands before using the toy to avoid contaminating it.

How to store it correctly?

Slime can be stored in the refrigerator or other cool place with a temperature of 2–4 degrees. It is placed there overnight in a plastic or any other container.

The shelf life of the slime is a week. After this time, you can make a new anti-stress toy. After a month, as indicated in many recipes, the slime will not last, the tetraborate will begin to erode, and the shampoo will begin to lose its properties.

Children should wash their hands thoroughly after playing with the sticky ball. An allergy to the components of the mixture is possible in the form of a rash, itching, and redness. In this case, you need to contact an allergist.

Slime made from glue and soda

If you don’t have tetraborate at home, you can make a slime from PVA glue and soda. For preparation you will need:

  • hot water - 100 ml;
  • glue - 2-3 tbsp. l.;
  • soda - 2 tsp.

The first step is to prepare a thickener. To do this, soda dissolves in water. Next, glue should be poured into this solution. There is no need to actively mix, just carefully turn the glue clot in the resulting thickener. After a couple of minutes, the excess water needs to be drained and the slime allowed to sit for another couple of minutes. After this, thoroughly knead the resulting mass with your hands and squeeze out excess water. The resulting slime is soft and tender.

From PVA-based glue stick

PVA in the form of a glue stick is also suitable for making slime at home. It is enough to first melt it and then thicken it again to the desired consistency. For this you will need:

  • PVA glue stick;
  • water - 2-3 tbsp. l.;
  • tetraborate - 2-3 drops.

First you need to melt the glue stick. This can be done in the microwave or in a water bath, after cutting it into pieces and adding water. When the glue becomes liquid, you need to cool it a little and you can thicken it. Tetraborate is introduced drop by drop and mixed after each addition. When the mass curls up and stops sticking to the walls of the container, you can knead it a little in your hands and you can play. This recipe makes a soft classic slime.

Storage and safety precautions

Now let's move on to a serious topic. How to keep slime in the same condition as it was immediately after production? The slime should be kept in a very well-closed container in places where light and heat do not reach. Best in the refrigerator (meaning not the freezer). You can also hold the slime:

  • on the veranda;
  • in the closet;
  • on the table;
  • you can hide it in the kitchen (carefully, otherwise your family will confuse it with jelly) or in the closet.

Avoid temperatures above 25 degrees. The slime may begin to melt and stick unpleasantly to your hands . This is why the toy should not be kept near heat sources such as radiators. Direct sunlight should be avoided. But even if you have taken into account all the factors, and something goes wrong with the slime, we will help you restore the toy.

Let's look at a few problems.

  • The slime has become sticky . Most likely he became like this from overheating. If its consistency has become liquid, do not panic. We can return it to a solid state. Sodium tetrabonate will help with this. Just a little powder and your problem will be solved.
  • The slime is frozen and torn . The reason lies in an excess of Sodium tetraborate. What to do in such a situation? The answer lies on the surface or right in front of you. It's hand cream and microwave! Yes Yes. Everything is easy and simple. Warm the slime for 10 seconds or just add a little hand cream to it.
  • The slime becomes small .
    Unfortunately, this is the most common problem. The whole problem lies in the love for the toy. The more often we play with it, the smaller it becomes. "Why?" - you ask. The whole point is that slime consists of liquid, and moisture comes out of it. How to save a toy? Pour two teaspoons of water into the bottom of the jar. Salt the slime a little and close the container. Make sure the lid is tightly closed and stir. Having taken out the slime, you need to mash it for a long time and repeat the procedure every three days. The slime needs to be watered with water, and then these problems will not arise.

Slime consists of many substances, but one of them may be sodium tetraborate, the recipe for which we discussed above. Of course, in small concentrations this element is completely safe. However, it is not intended for oral administration. But still, people have studied store-bought slimes and proven that several products contain an excess of sodium tetraborate.

A unique study of thirteen slimes was conducted in Britain. The study showed that seven out of thirteen stress relievers did not relieve TB at all. But again, this only applies to purchased slimes, and such studies have not been carried out in Russia.

It’s hard to name which manufacturers make slimes according to all GOST standards, so for the sake of your safety and the safety of your child, we recommend creating slimes yourself at home. But you also need to take precautions at home. Preschool children should only play slime under parental supervision.

Children tend to put all their toys in their mouths. Please note that sometimes slime components may remain on your hands . After playing with slime, be sure to wash your hands with soap. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with all the components of the toy before giving it to your child. Make sure you are not allergic to the slime components. Don't let your child rub the toy on their face or chew instead of gum.

Explain to your child what the toy is for and immediately familiarize him with the rules of the game. You and your child should not spend long periods of time playing with slime. Unfortunately, there are actually no harmless elements in slime. Of course, the presence of unsafe substances is almost always minimal, but frequent contact with the toy can lead to an allergic reaction or burns (due to sodium tetraborate).

Do not allow the student to make slime on his own every day , since contact with the original elements is harmful to the child’s skin. You should not allow your child to play with slime or make it themselves if there are any injuries on their hands (wounds, burns, scratches, etc.).

If you decide to buy slime in a store, you should make sure the quality of the toy is there. Buy it only from a trusted, large toy store. Such stores, as a rule, take care of their goods and value their reputation.

When making slime at home, don't take the issue of a safe workspace lightly. Create slime in rooms with open windows or air conditioning. The paradox is that slime, of course, is an ordinary toy without harm to the body, but when preparing it it is better to wear gloves. Thanks to them, you will not damage the skin of your hands if you overdo it with ingredients when making slime.

You should never use a large number of ingredients to make a huge slime. Don't follow your child's lead. Strictly and carefully monitor the cooking process. This is quite an interesting thing. It will benefit both you and the baby.

Slime is an original toy. It has no form. It is more like jelly, which can even melt if you leave it in the sun. It would seem that you can just hold it and that’s it. But there are a lot of games where our “jelly” will look cool.

You can play with slime without just squeezing it. You can make it into an entertaining toy by adding netting and string. Once you make this ball, you will be surprised at how practical it is.

In conclusion, I would like to add that the slime toy, also known as slime, is suitable for all ages . It can be a great stress reliever in the office and great fun for children. Making slime yourself is a pleasure, because you can create it the way you want.

Making slime can be a great way to spend quality time with your child as a family. Spend just ten minutes on a little experimentation in the kitchen and you'll see that even the simplest slime can bring you closer to your family members.

Slime with office glue (PVA-K)

The difference between stationery PVA and universal PVA is its consistency. It's more liquid. To use it to make slime at home you will need:

  • PVA-K - 200 ml.;
  • dye (optional);
  • sodium tetraborate.

First you need to tint the glue, and then thicken it with tetraborate. The activator must be added gradually, mixing thoroughly. This slime does not hold its shape and spreads when placed on a surface. At the same time, it stretches well and does not stick to your hands.

Wallpaper glue slime recipe

PVA wallpaper glue has a thick consistency. It is suitable not only for repair work, but also for making slimes. You will need:

  • Household PVA - 100 ml;
  • hand cream - 1 tbsp. l.;
  • soda - 1 pinch;
  • boric acid.

Mix glue with hand cream in a container. Add a pinch of soda, stir and introduce the activator. In this case it is boric acid. This should be done gradually, mixing thoroughly. When the mass has curled up, continue with your hands. The slime turns out very crispy, stretches to the thinnest film and does not stick to your hands.

History of the origin of lizuns

The initial interest in this toy appeared in the 1990s, when the animated series “Ghostbusters” was released on television boxes. The first hero was the green slime ghost.

In general, this toy was made back in 1976 under the leadership of Mattel. The composition included the components guar copper, minerals, borax, which make the toy slimy and stretchy. But a substitute for all these chemical elements has appeared - PVA glue. This is exactly what we will use.

Is it possible to use PVA Moment Joiner for slimes?

PVA Moment Stolyar construction adhesive makes an airy slime no worse than other proven brands of glue. The important difference is that this type of glue is toxic. When working with it, you should use gloves and a mask. To make the toy click loudly and stretch well, it is better to use the Universal Joiner in a white tube. List of necessary ingredients to make this slime at home:

  • glue - 100 ml;
  • any cream (can be used for hands) - 1 tbsp. l.;
  • shaving foam - 7-8 tbsp. l.;
  • activator (in this case tetraborate dissolved in water).

First, wood glue and foam are mixed in a container in a 1:1 ratio. You also need to squeeze out the hand cream here and mix everything until smooth. Now this mass should be thickened. The activator is made like this: for 1 glass of water - 2 tbsp. l. tetraborate. The resulting solution should be added one teaspoon at a time to the resulting mixture. The reaction will begin quickly and you will be able to play with the slime within 1-2 minutes. This is a fun and quick way for those who like to make slime at home.

How to care for slime

In order for the created toy to serve for a long time, you need to figure out how to care for it.

How to wash slime

It's no secret that slime is very sticky, and because of this it quickly becomes dirty and covered with dust. Therefore, it is recommended to periodically clean it from accumulated dirt. There are several recommendations that you should familiarize yourself with before cleaning such a sticky toy:

The slime should be washed in cold water, the temperature of which does not exceed 20 degrees. After washing, place it in a closed container and place it in the refrigerator for 20-25 minutes. When cleaning small slime, use a regular syringe

The slime is carefully removed into the syringe, after which all large debris will remain on the tip of the syringe.

How to make slime from universal PVA glue (PVA-M)

Thick, white glue without a pungent odor, PVA-M Luch is well suited for making homemade slimes. It works with any thickener, which is a definite plus. For a soft, airy slime you will need:

  • PVA-M from Luch - 85 ml;
  • starch - 2 tsp;
  • soda - 0.5 tsp;
  • hand cream - 1 tsp;
  • shampoo - 1 tbsp. l.;
  • water - 1-2 tsp;
  • Teymurova foot spray.

In one container you need to mix glue, starch, soda and cream until smooth. In the other, using a whisk, mixer or sponge, you need to whip up a thick foam from shampoo and water. After this, the contents of the containers must be combined and mixed carefully. Thicken the resulting air mass. Teymurov's spray will help with this. You should do a few sprays at a time and monitor the reaction. The result is great. This is a real fluffy slime that curls beautifully into a rosette, stretches and clicks well. You can decorate this slime as you wish with beads, sparkles or sequins.

How to make your own slime at home?

The following are slime recipes using PVA glue and sodium tetraborate.

Brilliant

With glitter

The slime with them turns out sparkling and festive. But be careful with glitter, otherwise everything around will sparkle. You can buy glitter at an office supply store or in the nail art department.

Ingredients:

  • PVA glue – 100 g;
  • sodium tetraborate – 1 tsp;
  • dye;
  • glitter;
  • water – 2 tbsp. l. (not necessary);
  • bowl and spoon for mixing.

Preparation:

  1. Pour the glue into the container. If the glue is thick, add water. If it is liquid, then do not dilute it, otherwise the slime may not turn out.
  2. Add ½ tsp. borax, stir. The activator will react and the slime will thicken.
  3. Add dye. Use gouache, acrylic paints or food coloring. The intensity of the color depends on the amount of dye.
  4. Stir for 2-3 minutes. Carefully add another ½ tsp. tetraborate if the slime does not set.
  5. Start adding glitter. Pour in a little and mix: take by the edges and fold towards the middle, crush, stretch and repeat the movements.
  6. Knead the slime in your hands for 5-10 minutes. The toy is ready when it stops sticking to your hands.

If you add too much sparkles, they will start to fall out and stick to surrounding surfaces during play. 2-3 pinches is enough.

With cosmetics

You can make glitter slime using nail polish, eye shadow or highlighter. With these products you get mother-of-pearl handgams with a metallic tint. The ingredients are the same.

Preparation:

  1. Mix PVA and tetraborate as described above. Do not paint or add glitter.
  2. Shadows and highlighters must first be crushed into powder. Take pearlescent or transparent varnish with glitter.
  3. Take one of the products and pour/sprinkle onto the slime. Adjust the color intensity yourself by adding more or less coloring ingredient.
  4. Knead the slime for 5-10 minutes until it stops sticking to your hands. After playing with handgam with varnish, do not forget to wash your hands. The varnish contains chemicals that can cause allergies.

Nail polishes smell bad. Try to “cut out” the smell and add a couple of drops of essential oil or flavor to the slime.

Elastic

Ingredients:

  • PVA glue – 50 g;
  • glue “Moment Joiner” – 50 g;
  • sodium tetraborate – 1 tsp;
  • toothpaste – ½ tsp;
  • container and spoon.

Preparation:

  1. Mix 2 types of glue in a bowl. Add toothpaste. Stir.
  2. Add activator little by little. Stolyar glue is thick, you may need even less tetraborate.
  3. Knead thoroughly for 2-3 minutes, collect from the sides and knead with your hands.

The handgam turns out to be dense and harsh, you won’t be able to play with it for a long time, your hands will get tired. But it is elastic, stretches well and does not tear.

Classical

A simple 3-ingredient slime. During manufacturing, the most important thing is to choose a “working” glue that will react with the thickener.

The amount of added activator depends on the brand of glue - some need more thickener, others less. Standard ratio: 50 g glue and ½ tsp. tetraborate.

Ingredients:

  • PVA glue – 100 g;
  • sodium tetraborate – 1 tsp;
  • shampoo or soap – 1 tsp;
  • container and spoon.

Preparation:

  1. Pour the glue into the container. If the glue is thick, dilute with water.
  2. Add soap/shampoo. This is necessary for the slime to crunch.
  3. Carefully introduce the activator and stir constantly.
  4. Once the slime has thickened, gather it into a ball and start kneading. At this stage, the slime acquires the desired structure. Add glycerin or oil to your hands and knead the slime to give it a glossy shine.

Store the toy in a tightly closed container to prevent it from drying out and losing its elasticity.

Air

They are also called fluffy slimes. They are textured, crunchy and stretchy, and hold their marshmallow shape as you play.

With toothpaste

This slime can be made from toothpaste. White paste produces snow-white slimes, and colored paste produces pastel shades.

Ingredients:

  • PVA glue – 4 tbsp. l.;
  • sodium tetraborate – 1 tsp;
  • water – 2 tbsp. l.;
  • toothpaste – 3 tbsp. l.;
  • shampoo – 3 tbsp. l.;
  • container and whisk, spoon for mixing.

Preparation:

  1. Pour water into a bowl, add paste and shampoo. Whisk for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add PVA and mix thoroughly.
  3. Pour in some of the thickener and stir. Add the rest or a little more if necessary. At this stage, add coloring if desired.
  4. Collect the slime from the walls and knead by hand until the toy stops sticking to your hands.

Slime is ready! It turns out airy and fluffy due to the paste and shampoo, it stretches and clicks well.

With shaving foam

Lizuny have a characteristic masculine smell. Stores sell women's foam with the aroma of peach, mango and other fruits. It costs more, but it acts the same, so it’s worth taking if the smell is very, very important.

Instead of shaving foam, try using foam or hair styling mousse. The texture is similar and the slime will be fluffy.

Ingredients:

Simple recipe with air freshener

This recipe is one of the simplest, but you need to take into account that for it you should select not only a working glue, but also a freshener. To make sure the toy turns out great, it’s better to take:

  • PVA - 85 ml;
  • Air Wick freshener;
  • dye.

Pour glue into a deep bowl, color it and thicken it with a freshener until the mass begins to peel off from the walls. It is better not to rush into adding the activator. Having made 1-2 long spritz, you should first actively mix the mass, and if it is still liquid, add more. These simple components make a cool toy. It will take a couple of minutes to make, but it can captivate you for a long time.

What can you replace the main ingredient with?

PVA glue can be replaced with regular office glue . You can also prepare slime using:

  • starch;
  • flour;
  • gelatin;
  • plasticine.

The recipes are similar to the previous ones, you just need to add a little of everything.

Using the recipes and tips given above, everyone can make their own signature slime. Just turn on your imagination and toga slime will become an excellent anti-stress, because during the manufacturing process you can paint it in any color, and also add sparkles, beads, foam balls, making it even more interesting and unusual.

How to brew pva yourself

PVA glue is not uncommon and can be found in any office supply or construction store. But if you are not satisfied with the quality of the brands presented, you can make it yourself. The first step is to prepare all the necessary ingredients. You will need:

  • distilled water - 1 l.;
  • glycerin - 5 g;
  • flour - 100-150 g;
  • ethyl alcohol - 20 l.;
  • photographic gelatin - 5 g.

Preparation takes place in several stages. First you need to soak the gelatin in water and leave it to infuse for a day. After this time, you can begin to cook the glue. The swollen gelatin is melted in a water bath. Once it becomes liquid and begins to boil, you can gradually add flour. This stage will take about an hour. When the mixture becomes similar in consistency to thick sour cream, add alcohol and glycerin and soak for half an hour in a water bath. It is very important to constantly stir the mixture with a wooden spoon to avoid the formation of lumps. This glue should be stored in a hermetically sealed container.

Can you make slime from non-working PVA glue?

If the slime doesn't work out, the problem is most likely PVA. Making a toy from non-working glue is a difficult task, but doable. There are several ways:

  1. Add fresh working PVA. After this, you can add other components required by the recipe and thicken. It is important that there is a lot of high-quality glue, about half the volume of the finished slime.
  2. Using a film mask. It will thicken the non-working glue. Just add a couple of spoons and mix thoroughly. In addition, the mask will make the toy more glossy and attractive.
  3. Shampoo. It can be replaced with shower gel. These components work on the same principle as the film mask.

To make slime from non-working glue, you can experiment with thickeners. For example, instead of tetraborate, you can use soda, Naphthyzin or Teymurov spray

Slime of various textures is made from PVA glue. Some crunch loudly, others smear, and still others can be used to make bubbles. For beginners, it is better to follow the recipes exactly and use proven brands of glue. More experienced slimers can experiment a little with the ingredients. This will change the texture and properties of the toy. This activity can captivate both adults and children for a long time.

How to choose a working adhesive product?

There is simply a huge number of PVA brands that can be confidently called working and used for making anti-stress toys. But, unfortunately, not all brands of glue are suitable for making the popular anti-stress agent.

The success of making slime depends on the composition of the glue itself, since some of them are thicker in consistency, while others, on the contrary, are too liquid. Vinyl acetate emulsion is included in almost every adhesive and is their basis.

The adhesive may have a normal or extended scope of application , but it all depends on the type of plasticizer and other additional features. components. Glue that is expired or nearing its expiration date is unlikely to make good slime. It is undesirable to use glue that has been open for a long time.

And we can immediately say that it will not be possible to create slime from such types of glue as:

  • glue, which has a watery composition;
  • if the glue is intended for gluing paper products;
  • with a very greasy texture.
