Washing powders "Persil": types, purpose, reviews

The problem of choosing the best detergent that would whiten, remove stubborn stains and not cause allergies in family members is faced by every housewife.
But not all powdered and liquid household chemicals meet these requirements. One of the popular detergents is Persil gel, which smells nice, is hypoallergenic, and removes the most difficult stains. A review of Persil washing gel products will help you evaluate their quality and choose the best one.

A little about the manufacturer

It is engaged in the production of household chemicals under the German Persil brand. This company was founded a very long time ago - back in 1876. Its first product was washing powder. It was then made on the basis of sodium silicate. Unlike similar products from other manufacturers, the first powder was not sold by weight, but in consumer-friendly packages.

The excellent quality of the product, which was new on the market at that time, and its ease of use quickly made it very attractive in the eyes of buyers and popular. In subsequent years, sales of Henkel household chemicals gradually grew. Ultimately, the company grew into a true industrial giant. Today its products are well known not only in Germany, but also in other European countries, as well as in the post-Soviet countries.

Henkel has been operating in the domestic market since 1990. It was then that the first Russian-German enterprise Sovhenk was created. It was registered in Engels.

How to choose a gel for different types of things

Gels can be universal or intended for a specific type of laundry.

  • For white items, it is better to take a separate liquid. It contains special substances - optical brighteners, which return clothes to a snow-white color. You should never take gels containing chlorine, as it can damage the fabric and also cause an allergic reaction.
  • To ensure that black items retain their rich color, you can use a separate product. The dye is washed out of all fabrics over time; dark clothes can turn gray in a couple of washes. Special gels for black fabric do not contain bleaches that lighten the thread, so it would be appropriate to use them. There should be no chlorine in the composition.
  • Colored items should be washed separately from black and white items, and be sure to sort by color to avoid “dye swapping.” Gels designed for things of different colors help maintain a rich shade.
  • Special liquid powders for woolen items do not allow them to stretch and change their original shape. When purchasing, you should pay attention to the composition: there should be no aggressive substances or alkali (it is strictly prohibited for detergent manufacturers).
  • The product for down jackets and down jackets should be chosen based on its composition. The active substance should be lanolin, it creates protection for the structure of the down on the lining.

Types of Persil powders

The line of household chemicals intended for washing clothes is quite wide. Several types of powders are supplied to the domestic market under the Persil brand. If desired, housewives, for example, can purchase Persil:

  1. "Lavender". This type of Persil powder is intended for washing white items. "Persil Lavender" is able to cope with the most difficult stains and at the same time gives the linen a unique aroma of field herbs.
  2. "Freshness" from Vernel. This powder with conditioner is simply ideal for washing light-colored laundry.
  3. Persil Power perls Automat. This automatic Persil powder is suitable for all types of fabric.
  4. Color “Freshness” from Vernel. This type of powder is designed for washing colored items.
  5. "Frosty Arctic". This powder contains special liquid stain remover granules. This product is intended for washing white laundry.

All these powders are certainly very popular, including on the domestic market. But still, the most purchased types of household chemicals from Henkel intended for washing are Persil Expert Sensitive, Expert Duo-Caps and Expert Color.

History of the product

Before we look at the advantages and disadvantages of Persil gels, let's look into the past and see what kind of brand it is, what company produces this product, and why it is called that. This product gets its name from the chemicals it contains.

The first three letters of the elements, combined with each other, gave the name of the brand - “Persil” (sodium perborate and sodium silicate.)

Back in 1907, Henkel made a real splash in the field of household chemicals. She invented a detergent that could quickly and effectively remove stains and whiten clothes without washing them using a board.

The oxygen bubbles released when the laundry was boiled gently whitened it. For the first time, bleaching took place without chlorine, and the laundry smelled pleasant. In 1959, the product included fragrance and anionic surfactants that improve the quality of washing.

1969 was a time of widespread distribution of washing machines and an increase in the production of devices. had to keep up with the times. Therefore, foam inhibitors were introduced into washing powder.

In the 70s, manufacturers developed a new formula that could penetrate into fabric fibers and rid the material of stubborn stains.

The powder continued to be used in washing machines. At the same time, special additives were introduced into the machine wash product, which protected the device from corrosion.

Every year, washing powders became better. When releasing them, the company used new achievements of science and chemical production. The concentration of active substances became stronger, and fragrances were no longer added to the powder.

Washing clothes now required less powder, which saved customers money and gained popularity among the general population.

The Henkel company began producing household chemicals intended for different types of fabrics. Before this, none of the manufacturers divided funds depending on the purpose of the materials.

In addition, they introduced a fabric fading inhibitor, which made colored fabrics brighter and prevented them from fading and dyeing other fabrics in their color. In 1994, the powder was replaced with granules, which made it possible to save product - instead of 290 ml, 90 ml was enough for washing.

Manufacturers have released a series of powders for children's underwear. It is hypoallergenic and does not cause dermal rashes in those prone to the manifestation of the disease.

In 2000, Persil powder began to be produced in Russia . Millions of customers became his admirers and used only him.

Now laundry was bleached at 40 degrees. Clothes lasted longer, pleasing their owners. After some time, manufacturers again amaze with their enterprise: an improved formula appears that removes any stains.

What kind of Persil is there for washing?

Detergent comes in powder and granules. Persil is available for white and colored linen, as well as a universal product.

Powders are available for hand washing and for automatic washing machines.

Composition and purpose

Persil Expert Sensitiv is a special concentrated gel designed specifically for washing. Its main feature, like any other Persil product, is the absence of phosphates harmful to the environment. This gel is intended for washing primarily children's clothes and linen. It can also be used to wash items belonging to people with hypersensitive skin.

Persil Expert Sensitive contains the following substances:

  • Anionic and nonionic surfactants;
  • water;
  • phosphonates;
  • soap;
  • optical brightener;
  • preservative;
  • enzymes;
  • fragrance

Advantages and disadvantages of gels

The negative aspects of these detergents include:

  • high price;
  • Can only be used in cold water;
  • You can only wash lightly soiled laundry;
  • short shelf life;
  • They do not remove oil and grease stains well.

Despite the negative aspects, gels have a number of advantages that give the consumer the right to use them instead of washing powders. These include:

  • gentle cleaning of delicate fabrics;
  • the presence of a measuring cap makes it easier to calculate the dosage of the product;
  • after washing, things will be streak-free, there is no need for additional rinsing;
  • no need to buy additional fabric softener, clothes are soft after drying and smell nice;
  • reduction in the amount of electricity consumed, since washing occurs at low temperatures;
  • there is no “dust”, therefore, there will be no allergic reaction. A significant advantage compared to dry powder, the volatile particles of which enter the eyes and respiratory tract.

Expert Color Powder

This product is marketed in the form of a gel. The main advantage of Expert Color powder is that it is able to remove the most difficult stains from linen and clothes and at the same time keep the colors as bright as possible. If desired, Persil Color powder can be used to wash items made from both natural and synthetic fabrics.

This product can also be used to remove greasy stains from laundry. At the same time, it smells quite pleasant. Persil Color powder copes well with heavy soiling even when washed in cool water.

What is liquid powder

The name “liquid laundry detergent” refers to gel substances used to remove dirt. On sale, this drug is found in the form of capsules, which dissolve when water is added, or in the form of a thick liquid poured into plastic containers. The product has a high concentration of detergents, so its consumption during washing is minimal.

Features of composition, varieties and use

Compared to traditional loose laundry detergent, the liquid preparation has several advantages:

  • eliminates all kinds of dirty marks;
  • is easily removed from fabric fibers;
  • completely dissolves in water of any temperature;
  • after it no streaks appear on the fabric;
  • takes care of the color of the fabric;
  • makes matter softer;
  • it is convenient to store, it does not spill, does not seize in lumps;
  • can be applied in different ways.

The main disadvantages of this form of detergent preparations are:

  • high price of the product;
  • impossibility of setting a high water temperature for washing.

Gel products are an excellent option if you need to refresh your clothes with daily washing. They are also used if you need to wash things made of thin, delicate fabric. But such a product is not able to cope with old dirt and complex stains.

Persil Power perls Automat

This powder, as already mentioned, can be used for washing both white and colored items. Its formula is such that it copes very well with contaminants in water of absolutely any hardness. If desired, this “Persil” machine can be used when washing items made of synthetic fabrics, cotton, linen, etc.

Many housewives use it to wash faded items. But soaking such laundry when using Persil Power perls Automat, like almost any other powder, is not recommended. When using this Persil powder, you should wash faded items quickly.

Unlike other powders of this brand, Persil Power perls Automat also contains phosphates. It also contains soda, anti-resorbent polymers, a defoamer and a bleach activator. The consumption of this powder depends on the hardness of the water used for washing. It is intended, as the name suggests, only for washing in activator-type machines. For manual application, it is worth using Persil powders of other varieties.

How to use in washing machine

If you bought liquid powder for the first time, then you probably don’t know how much it will be needed and where is it better to pour it: directly into the drum or is it better to use the detergent compartment?

On the bottles, the manufacturer indicates the required dosage for one cycle. It is approximately 75-150 ml. This is a high expense, you will quickly have to buy a new one. This is not beneficial for the buyer.

It has been experimentally established that things will be effectively cleaned when using two tablespoons of gel. This consumption is good for owners of washing machines with a load of 3-5 kg. If the machine has a load of 6-7 kg, then it is better to take 3-4 tablespoons.

It is difficult to answer exactly the question of where to pour liquid powder. Manufacturers have different requirements for the use of this detergent.

Most washing machine compartments are divided into three parts. One of them is designated B or II. Powder is usually poured here; gel is also suitable.

It is worth considering that some washing machine manufacturers prohibit the use of gel products. This means that the option of pouring it into a special container that is placed in a drum is suitable.

Before washing, for it to be effective, you need to take three steps:

  • sort the laundry by color – light to light, dark to dark;
  • choose a dosage that corresponds to the degree of contamination of things;
  • The temperature should be kept at the recommended 30-40 degrees.

Consumer Reviews

Housewives certainly have a good opinion about this type of household chemical. Consumers attribute the advantages of Persil powders, first of all, to the fact that they wash things very well. Stains are guaranteed to disappear after application. This product is also very suitable for washing children's clothes. Where many other powders remain powerless, Persil copes with a bang. In addition, this remedy almost never causes allergic reactions.

Also, many housewives consider the advantages of this product to be economical in use. Some consumers even believe that it is possible to pour it into the machine in smaller quantities than indicated in the instructions for use. In this case, things will still be washed very well.

Most housewives consider the disadvantages of this product primarily to be its high cost. Also, some consumers do not advise pouring too much Persil washing powder into the machine. Otherwise, you will have to rinse things for too long in the future so that white stains do not remain on them.

Method of using gels

When using different types of Persil gels, please note that it is not recommended to overfill the liquid product; it must be added according to the instructions. Otherwise, the laundry develops a pungent odor that does not disappear for a long time, and things are difficult to rinse.

The dispenser lid helps you measure the required amount of product. The gel should be poured according to the weight of the clothing.

You can buy Persil in special bottles of various sizes. The most popular volume is considered to be 1.46 liters. Its price varies from 450 to 600 rubles. Replaces 3 kg of powder. Enough for 20 washes.

There are also larger volumes - 2.92 liters, like 6 kg of washing powder. Its cost is 1000-1200 rubles, and for 5 liters you will have to pay 3500-3800 rubles. There are promotions. To make it convenient to hold the bottle and pour the appropriate dose of gel, there is a comfortable handle. The color of the gel is blue, lilac and turquoise.

Pour gel into the cap and place it in the washing powder compartment. You can pour the product directly into the drum so that it dissolves better and faster. If the stains are difficult, then pour the gel onto the stain, and then wash it by hand or by machine.

Persil reviews

Buyers praise Persil washing powder. Large volume products are especially often purchased.

So, Evelina claims that the powder washes cleanly, colored things become brighter, and white ones are cleaned of dirt, do not turn gray or yellow, and retain their whiteness without soaking. She heard from some friends that laundry smelled bad after Persil and additional rinsing was necessary. But using the powder constantly, she refutes the words of her friends, saying that the laundry smells fresh. Evelina says that her husband is allergic: other powders cause a cough and runny nose. Persil does not cause an allergic reaction in him.

Alina recommends this powder to everyone. She says it removes tough stains. Colored linen does not fade even after several washes. She liked the smell of Persil Color: soft and fresh. But Alina complains about the high cost of the powder. The price of a large package is 500 rubles and she admits that if it weren’t for the promotion (she paid 200 rubles for a large package), she would not have bought the product.

Milesha notes that she tried many different powders and chose Persil. He is the best. And it whitens wonderfully, and preserves the color, and the smell is not cloying, pleasant.

And the mother of two beautiful sons, Marina, gave Persil gel 5 out of a possible five. She says that she has long been looking for a product that would remove stains from juice, felt-tip pens, and berries the first time. And so that the smell is not strong and does not cause allergies. Marina conducted an experiment. I poured the detergent on some items before washing, and simply washed others.

So what did she find? The stains were all washed off, not even a trace of the felt-tip pens remained. And the smell is not strong, barely noticeable, as she claims. She really liked this gel. Marina is very glad that she finally found the product she was looking for. She recommends it to everyone. Of course, the gel is expensive: the price is 450 rubles, but there are often promotions.

We provided you with an overview of Persil laundry gel products, introduced you to reviews of Henkel powders and gels, and drew your attention to the features of Persil.

We recommend buying gels and trying to wash clothes with this product. We think that it will not disappoint you, it will make your laundry clean, without stains or streaks.

Notes on washing

  • All tested gels wash cotton much better at 60 degrees than at 40. This is predictable, because the higher the water temperature, the better the quality of washing, regardless of the detergent. 60 degrees is the optimal temperature for everyday washing. The 95 degree mode is necessary only in certain cases, which we describe in detail in this material.
  • One of the examination participants did not pass the blue gouache stain test. When washed with Meine Liebe gel at 40 degrees, all the white fabric in the machine was uniformly colored blue. A similar situation occurred with Meine Liebe powder when washed at 40 degrees. At 60 degrees there were no problems with either the powder or the gel.

Stains

What to do with skin care cream stains?

Treat the stain with stain remover and then wash the item with Persil Color Gel.

Select the dosage for “heavily soiled” laundry according to the water hardness and set the maximum wash temperature according to the care label on the garment. If the stain is old and has previously been removed by other means, the procedure may need to be repeated.

What to do about sunscreen stains?

Sunscreen stains can be the most problematic during the summer. The higher the sun protection factor of the cream, the more difficult it is to remove the stain. Leaving dirty clothes in the laundry basket for a long time makes it difficult to remove stains. In particularly difficult cases, the stain may not be completely removed.

Tips for removing stains:

Treat stains with stain remover until the fabric is completely saturated.

Then wash the item with Persil, adding stain remover. Set the maximum permissible washing temperature (see the care label on the clothing), select the dosage of the product as for “heavily soiled” laundry.

Sometimes the stain does not come out in one wash. In this case, repeat the procedure or soak the laundry overnight. For soaking, dissolve 48 ml of Persil gel or 77 g of Persil powder along with stain remover in 10 liters of water. When using delicate fabrics in pastel shades, you need to decide what is more important: removing the stain or preserving the color of the fabric. If pastel-colored fabric is washed with a product containing bleach, the color may fade.

What should you do if dark, blurry spots appear on your clothes after washing?

Often the cause of such stains is the so-called polyquats, which, among other things, are included in many hair care products. They can accumulate on the surface of fabrics, securely attaching to the fibers. This effect allows them to stick to dirt that is released during washing.

If there is too little detergent, these stains will be clearly visible as dirt will collect at these points. Due to the above properties of polyquats, such stains are very difficult and sometimes impossible to remove.

Try the following:

First, soak the items in soapy water for several hours. Depending on the color of the fabric, use the appropriate Persil, select the dosage for “heavily soiled” laundry and add a large dose of bleach. Finally, machine wash your items with a generous dose of the listed products (taking into account water hardness) at the maximum temperature indicated on the care label.

The color of these stains may change over time due to the influence of oxygen in the air or after insufficient washing. What was previously a barely noticeable stain is now a blurred brownish stain.

Stains from white or color-fast clothing can be removed with Persil powder and stain remover. Add stain remover to laundry detergent in the detergent dispenser. Based on the care label on your clothing, select the maximum temperature allowed.

Dampen stains on delicate colored clothing with stain remover gel, wait 10 minutes, and then wash the item by hand or machine, following the care instructions, using a mild detergent (such as Laska Color) and adding stain remover.

How to remove stubborn stains from clothes?

If such stains do not disappear after the first wash, it is better to treat them separately before washing again, and then add more detergent.

Alternatively, you can soak your clothes overnight in a laundry detergent solution or choose the machine's soak function. For soaking, dissolve 77g Persil Powder or 48ml Persil Gel in approximately 10L of water. See Persil's stain removal guide for more details.
