Liquid dish detergent

To clean polyester, a liquid or gel composition is used. It is diluted with water, foamed, and applied to problem areas with a sponge. Each spot is treated for 2-3 minutes. The dirt disintegrates and its traces remain on the sponge.

After this, the sponge is washed in water, and the solution is reapplied. The fabric is treated until the stains completely disappear. Use a damp cloth to remove any remaining cleaning agent. Dish liquid is effective, but leaves streaks, so it is washed off with water several times. It is better to clean the jacket with a warm solution, it removes dirt faster.

Using soap

A polyester down jacket is cleaned with a soap solution: 150-200 g of soap is crushed, diluted with water and mixed. A product with a sour cream consistency is applied to the stain with a sponge; if the stain cannot be removed the first time, the procedure is repeated.

The treated fabric is wiped with a dry, clean cloth, using a lot of water to wash off the resulting stains. When repeating the procedure, the remaining solution is removed and a new one is applied in its place. Most housewives clean their jackets with laundry soap, but if you don’t have it on hand, you can use toilet soap.

Salt

Salt is actively used in everyday life; it absorbs water well and removes old stains. To clean your down jacket, you need to sprinkle some crystals on the dirty area. The product will absorb the fat, making it easier to remove. To remove a stubborn or old stain, you need to make a paste of salt. Take 1 tbsp. l. and dilute with water. Apply the product to the problem area, put the item aside for a couple of hours, then remove the salt with a brush.

Sodium tetraborate

The product is used to remove stains from various synthetic fabrics, incl. from polyester. It is applied to a cotton swab and treated problem areas, then removed with a solution of citric acid. If the stains cannot be removed, you should sprinkle starch on them, cover them with a cotton cloth and iron them through it. Repeat the procedure 2-3 times until the dirt disappears.

Starch

In 2-3 hours, salt removes fat and unaesthetic gloss. To enhance the effect of this product, you need to mix it with starch and lemon juice. First you need to combine salt and starch in equal proportions, then dilute the products with lemon juice. To clean a down jacket, you should use a product with a sour cream consistency. The composition is applied to the stain and left for 30 minutes, after which it is removed with a brush.

Vinegar solution

The product helps fight various types of pollution. Vinegar enhances the properties of salt. To prepare an effective cleaning composition, you need to take 500 ml of water, 20 ml of vinegar and 20 g of salt, mix. Apply the resulting product to the down jacket with a cotton pad. If necessary, perform the procedure several times. After the down jacket is cleaned, you need to treat it with a clean damp cloth, and if the dirt is deeply ingrained, wash it.

Baking soda

Before applying the purchased stain remover, the fabric is thoroughly wetted. Remember that the cleaning product must not contain chlorine.

If you are using it on a jacket or other product for the first time, test the effect of household chemicals on a small area that is located in an inconspicuous place (preferably on the wrong side). Curtains

Backpack

To wash a polyester backpack, all decorative elements are removed from it and immersed in a machine drum. Use delicate or manual mode. To avoid the backpack losing its shape, it is not wrung out. Types of jackets

Parka

Leather

The leather jacket consists of leather inserts and a fabric lining. The lining is cleaned by turning it inside out and walking over it with a soapy solution. If the lining is very dirty and requires normal washing, then it is stripped and washed separately in any convenient way.
For leather outerwear, dry cleaning can be recommended; self-care is too complicated and time-consuming.

Suede

Suede, like any leather, does not like water and washing in any form. For manual cleaning you will need warm water at a temperature of about 30 degrees and liquid detergent.

Wring out by squeezing and then blot with a terry towel.

How to dry?

Polyester dries quickly, especially if you hang the product in a draft. Synthetic items should not be hung in the sun or near heating appliances. It is best to let the water drain naturally by hanging the item on hangers or pat it dry with a terry towel.
