Mink: care and maintenance of a pet

Both European and American mink can be kept as a pet. However, due to the fact that the “European” is a rarer species and is even listed in the Red Book, American minks are still more common.

By and large, caring for and maintaining a mink in an apartment is not much different from keeping a ferret. The only difference is that minks are very freedom-loving and perceive being kept in a cage extremely negatively. This animal is quite easy to train to a tray, and it is not at all picky about food. Typically, mink are fed mixtures of rice or buckwheat porridge and minced meat. Any meat will do: poultry, fish, beef, pork. You can also use ready-made cat food.

Since minks have a fairly fast metabolism, they are mobile and active. The Internet is full of videos of minks frolicking and mischievous. This is a really funny and cheerful animal, so to minimize damage to the apartment you need to equip a small “playground” for the animal in the apartment. It is also highly advisable to regularly take the animal for a walk.

At the same time, you need to be prepared for the fact that while you are not at home, your pet will independently arrange your things there and in the form in which it is convenient for him. Sharp claws and a flexible body allow the mink to climb anywhere, including places from which it can no longer get out. So, during your absence, it is better to lock the animal in a spacious cage or enclosure.

Minks have a great passion for water, so you need to provide the animal with at least an imitation of a reservoir - a basin or a small personal bath. The mink will be very grateful to you for this pleasure.

Like ferrets, minks have a noticeable, specific odor. It is impossible to completely get rid of it, but by regularly cleaning the “nest”, it can be significantly reduced. To maintain the health of a domestic mink, it must be periodically vaccinated (especially if the mink often walks outside) and dewormed.

Need for cleaning

A good housewife constantly checks the condition of her clothes. She will certainly notice when the coat needs to be tidied up. First, it’s worth determining what exactly needs to be applied: deep cleansing or just combing the fur coat and airing it. It's easy to do:

  1. Blow on the fur so that a funnel is formed in it and the skin becomes visible. Shake the fur coat and see how smoothly the fur lies. Then sniff it: if there is no unpleasant odor, it means it is not yet time to deep clean the fur. You just need to comb out and air the fur product.
  2. If the pile becomes dull and loses its lushness, it’s time for deep cleaning.
  3. On the eve of spring and after a long period of storage in the closet, the coat definitely needs to be put in order and refreshed. This should be done even if there are no signs of contamination.

This procedure is necessary if the fur has lost its characteristic shine, its shade has become uneven, the pile has settled, a dusty or greasy coating has appeared on the hairs, the fur has become tangled or formed knots, and the insides are clogged with small debris.

If slight dirt is noticed on the product, it can be removed at home with a regular hairdryer. It is enough to direct a stream of air at the problem area from a half-meter distance. If the hairs first fly away and then fall back to their original place, it means that the fur coat does not need deep cleaning. But if the hairs don’t move under the air pressure, you can’t do without cleaning.

Fur Cleaning Basics

In a serious store, when purchasing, they will definitely tell you how and with what to properly clean fur products. The advice of experts should not be neglected. If they are lost or forgotten, then there are basic principles that must be followed.

The first and main one is no washing powders or similar household chemicals . The most reliable way in which the fur coat will not be damaged is dry cleaning in a specialized organization. It is carried out using a dry method, which helps protect the fur from the harmful effects of moisture. It is recommended to submit any fur coat for this procedure once a year, after the end of the season.

However, some contaminants can be easily eliminated at home:

  1. First of all, this applies to ordinary house dust . In this case, the fur coat should be carefully laid out on a damp sheet with the fur facing out and carefully knocked out from the inside. Most of the dust will quickly end up on the wet cloth. After this, the product will need to be shaken a little and hung to dry.
  2. Fur stained with cosmetics, lipstick or foundation can be easily cleaned with alcohol . A small amount of liquid applied to a cotton pad or swab will be enough to remove dirt.

How to properly store a mink coat at home

  • A fur coat, like any fur item, cannot be stored folded; hang it on wooden hangers. Try to match them to the length and width of your shoulder so that the sleeves do not become deformed. Fasten all fasteners, buttons, pockets, remove all jewelry.
  • Natural fur does not tolerate dust and sunlight, so hide the product not only in a dark closet, but also in a case. Do not under any circumstances use a plastic bag for this, because it must “breathe”! Purchase or make your own at home a long cotton bag with a slot for a hanger. To be safe, you can also cover it with a paper bag.
  • It is better to store a light mink coat wrapped in gauze. Before doing this, soak the fabric in a weak blue solution and dry thoroughly.
  • Be sure to ask whether other outerwear is constricting for your pet, because the mink should only be stored flattened so that the fur does not cake.
  • From time to time, ventilate the closet where your treasure is stored.

Features of life in the wild

The natural habitat of minks is considered to be most of Eastern Europe and North America. There are two varieties of mink: European and American. The second was brought to Europe before the start of World War II, and today the American mink population in Europe significantly exceeds the European population. To a greater extent, this is due to the displacement of the European animal by its larger relative.

This animal lives near rivers, lakes and bays, but very rarely settles further than 200 meters from the reservoir. Minks got their name due to the fact that they spend a large amount of time in burrows, which are built near thickets of bushes, or near the roots of large trees. The main enemy of the mink is considered to be the river otter, which almost always wins the battle for territory, since it is a larger animal.

An animal from the mustelid family leads an active lifestyle all year round; in winter, it begins to roam more and stays near ice-free bodies of water. The animal tries to pull all kinds of prey to the shore: frogs, fish from nets, water rats. Sometimes it feeds on plant foods rich in essential vitamins (lingonberries, rowan berries, seeds of perennial plants). If an animal lives near a village, then with a high degree of probability people will lose chickens or other poultry.

When males are ready to mate, they begin actively searching for females. At this time, they can move far from their burrows. Usually several “admirers” begin to court one female at once, but only one – the most aggressive and strong – always wins. The female's pregnancy lasts one and a half months, after which the mother cares for her cubs for 12-14 weeks. The lactation period in these animals is long, lasting about 10 weeks. When small animals learn to hunt and get their own food on their own, they will leave their mother in search of a place to live.

Preparation

First, critically examine the product, as they say, from head to toe

Carefully brush off the dust and ventilate in fresh air. Shake the pile, but do not comb or wipe it before putting it in the closet, so as not to damage it.

Do not store your fur coat dirty and dusty. Try to get rid of various types of stains immediately after they appear. Inspect the hem especially carefully. Remember that dirty fur is a favorite treat for insidious moths!

If you find serious contamination, it is better to take it to the dry cleaner. Mink fur is very delicate and capricious, so try to clean it thoroughly at least once a year, and not at home, of course.

Think about where you will store your jewelry. Naturally, this should be done away from sunlight if you want to keep the shade and shine of the pile unchanged. The most convenient place is the closet. Just not narrow, because such a product loves a lot of space and air. It also does not tolerate proximity to radiators: its interior can dry out and lose flexibility. But high humidity is also not welcome. It likes cool temperatures – maximum 17° C. That’s how demanding it is!

It’s even better to send this wardrobe item to a special fur storage unit in the summer. Isn't there such a possibility? Then listen to the advice of experts.

How to store a mink coat in summer: protection from the sun and moths

How best to store a mink coat at home is an important question for owners of such a luxurious product, and there is an answer to it. It is necessary to follow certain rules in order for the fur beauty to wear longer.

An important condition for the safety of a mink is the presence of space between it and other things. It should be hung on a special trempel designed for fur products. The hangers should be wide; a thin wire hanger should not be used. The fur coat should hang straightened, it is better if the sleeves are stuffed with fabric. Such measures will help the mink not to lose its shape.

Sunlight should not penetrate into the storage area of the product, especially direct rays. If a fur coat is hanging in a closet, you need to periodically check its condition and open the doors so that it “breathes.” If the mink is resting in the hallway, you also need to periodically ventilate the room.

How to properly store a natural mink coat is often a problem for its owners, since this fur likes to be cool, which is difficult to achieve at home. The best option is to maintain the temperature at 5 – 15°C. To create such conditions, the room must have air conditioning and periodically provide an influx of fresh air to the mink. If there is no air conditioning, it is better to take it out onto the balcony for a couple of days and make sure that it is not exposed to the sun. However, you should not remove it from the special case.

You should definitely take care of protection against moths. Today there are many remedies: sachets, tablets, aerosols, oils, but you can also use proven folk remedies. Tangerine peels, lavender, and bergamot can help with how to effectively store fur coats in the summer at home. They also help in the fight against moths, but it is worth considering that they need to be renewed periodically and lavender must be used carefully, as the smell can remain for a long time.

It is imperative to check the fur coat for brooches, coins in pockets, a belt and other accessories, as they can harm the fur

To avoid problems with moths, you need to treat it yourself, or purchase an option pre-impregnated with a pest repellent. It is better not to use tobacco and mothballs to protect expensive furs. Although these products are not inferior in effectiveness to others, their smell is very pungent and corrosive, and then it will not be so easy to get rid of it.

By the way, before the question arises, how to properly store a mink fur coat at home, you need to provide it with good conditions while wearing it

If the product is made of white mink, in addition to the fact that you cannot spray eau de toilette on it, you need to pay special attention to caring for the collar. You should not attach brooches to it, especially costume jewelry that can stain the fur.

In addition, it is better to wear a scarf or shawl around your neck so that the collar does not become dirty or stained from the clothes under your fur coat. By the way, if lavender was chosen to fight moths, you can use a scarf soaked in lavender oil; you can hang it on a bracket or put it in your pocket

It is important that the oil does not come into contact with the fur and skin of the fur coat.

If the owner of a fur product was not initially familiar with the material, how to properly store a fur coat in the summer from moths, malignant insects could get in and ruin the thing. In this case, do not despair and throw it away ahead of time. The first step is to inspect the fur coat for signs of pest damage and take it to the dry cleaner. If the moth has already reached the product and thoroughly damaged it, you need to go to the studio. With the help of professional restoration, the desired piece of fur can be replaced. If an item is contaminated, its lifespan is significantly reduced, but at the same time its life can be extended. Fur cannot be steamed or washed, even if it is infected with moths. It is better to take the item to the dry cleaner or thoroughly treat it yourself with a chemical spray. By the way, it is better not to use this option for prevention; it is intended solely to eliminate the consequences.

How to care?

Do not wear in high humidity, wet snow, or rain. If this happens, then remove it, shake out the excess moisture, hang it to dry naturally, and only then put it in the closet. Never use a hair dryer or place it on a radiator. Under their influence, a yellow tint is acquired. This is especially true for light colors. Perfume can ruin the fur and lining. They contain alcohol, which destroys the hair structure. It is better to use them before putting on outerwear.

Fur coats should only be kept on wide hangers.

Hang it on broad shoulders and it will not wrinkle or become deformed. The product needs good air exchange. Store at home in high-quality cases made of natural materials in dark colors. Experts warn: if chemicals get in contact with the fur coat, it will have to be restored. Do not wash with water as this will cause damage. As for accessories, love the clutch, cross-body bags create bald patches. Do not sit on heated seats in a car while wearing wet clothes.

How to properly store a mink coat at home?

Storing fur coats is a simple process. If the item has not been worn much, it will be enough to ventilate it in a cool, dry room. It is also good to hang it on the balcony in dry frosty air. Mink coats should be stored at home in a dark place, avoiding heating appliances. Hang freely, avoid squeezing. Store a white mink coat in a blue linen bag or blue paper. They will prevent yellowing. You should also protect your fur coat from moths by preparing preparations that should be changed every 3 months. Refuse aerosols, only bags with natural ingredients. The best remedy is lavender. If the moth does appear, then you need to clean the mink fur by hanging it on the balcony at 8 degrees below zero for several nights, then put it in a dark place.

How to clean?

The product must be stored exclusively in a clean condition.

You should carefully prepare for the summer season, especially if the item has been actively worn. It is better to clean mink fur coats at trusted dry cleaners. Still, try to use such services less often, since the chemicals used there have an adverse effect on the product. To check the degree of contamination, blow on the fur; if the “crater” that formed quickly disappears, cleaning is required. Proper care at home is the key to long service life of the product.

It is more difficult to clean a white fur coat. It is not difficult to maintain whiteness and attractive appearance. If dirt gets in, let it dry, and then comb it with a special brush that does not harm the fur. You can use a vacuum cleaner, but the power should be low. Oil stains are removed using sawdust. Cover the stain, leave it for an hour, and then remove it. To protect the collar, you need to wear a scarf around your neck. If you are not sure about the proper storage of fur coats at home, then you can use the services of dry cleaners for the summer. They use special fur refrigerators. This is guaranteed to save you from burnout, moths, and damage.

How and when to wear it?

Long fur coats are worn in snowy weather, not earlier than December; medium-length coats can be worn in late autumn in stable snowless cold weather. Mink coats and lightweight items are worn from September to May. Temperature range from -5 to -30 degrees. Mink fur is an expensive pleasure, and if you are the happy owner, then follow the rules of care and wear, and it will delight you for a long time.

How to remove splits in a fur coat

A mink coat requires careful handling. Improper storage causes tarnishing, salting, creases and splits. If the reason for the splits is grease and dirt, take the product to a dry cleaner for professional cleaning, the fur coat will return to its previous appearance. Frequent use of dry cleaning services will cause wear and tear. At home, comb out creases with a brush. Treat the split area with steam using an iron or clothes steamer. It is better to steam in a vertical position. The fur product will become soft and fluffy.

Daily care instructions

To understand how to properly care for a mink coat at home in winter and summer, you need to use the following instructions:

No matter how rarely or often you wear your fur coat, don't try to fit it into a tiny part of your closet. Squeezing it between your clothes will flatten your coat and cause unnecessary friction, which leads to shedding. Your fur will look worn out. Remember that animal hair easily collects dust, oils and odors, so using a case for storage is the best solution. If you get caught in rain or snow, simply grab your fur coat by the shoulders and shake it out to remove as much water as possible. Hang the fur to dry in a well-ventilated area in your home, but do not use a hair dryer, clothes dryer, or hang the fur on air conditioning units or any other source of hot air

Once dry, shake again to fluff up the fur and gently pat the fur with your hand. If your fur coat is completely soaked in water, you should immediately take it to a professional fur cleaner. Avoid using mothballs around your fur at home

The strong smell will stick to your coat and is difficult to get rid of. In addition, mothballs absorb moisture, so their use risks creating a dry atmosphere, which, as stated earlier, is not a suitable condition for storing fur coats. Use only a plastic or wooden hanger with wide shoulders to support the weight of the fur coat. Thin hangers, whether plastic, wood or metal, distort the shoulders and sleeves of a garment or even its entire shape. Clean the fur while it hangs using a fur brush. Starting at the top of the coat, work your way to the bottom, combing the hair as it grows. Use short, even strokes and work in sections. Light stains can be removed with a simple homemade solution: mix one-part isopropyl alcohol with plain water and apply directly to the stain. Do not try to remove stains with any chemical product, no matter how mild it is. If you are unsure how to treat a stain, contact a professional fur cleaner as soon as possible.

What if the fur coat is wrinkled?

If a fur coat is stored folded or weighed, squeezed among other things, then it may become wrinkled. Crumpled mink fur is quite difficult to restore. It is recommended to contact specialists for help. But there are ways to straighten such outerwear yourself.

A minor jam is corrected as follows:

  • lay the product on a flat surface;
  • lightly dampen a clean sponge in warm water;
  • moisten the fur;
  • comb the pile with a fine-toothed comb;
  • shake the product and hang it on a hanger to dry.

You can also straighten a wrinkled mink coat by steaming. To do this, you need to open hot water in the bath and wait until the room is filled with steam. Then place the coat hanger in the bathroom, but not above the bathtub itself.

Under the influence of steam, the pile will be leveled. The main thing is not to wet the product, but after the procedure, hang it in a dry, well-ventilated area.

How to provide conditions for storing fur products

The place where you want to store your fur coat should be dark and quite spacious so that the fur does not mat, and most importantly, cool. If you decide to take your fur coat to the dry cleaner for the winter, then all this is provided without fail.

All additional accessories must be removed without fail.

If an anti-moth aerosol is not used, a decent way to solve a pest problem is to put bags of anti-parasite impregnation in your pockets, and the most effective solution is considered to be anti-moth tablets.

It is important to periodically check the condition of the product throughout the entire storage period, because since it is quite difficult to preserve a mink coat from moths, it is important to promptly notice the activity of parasites

This is the most important thing that owners of luxurious furs should remember after the end of the winter season.

Laws for wearing fur coats

The last, but by no means unimportant, rule is that wearing it correctly will help preserve the appearance of your favorite clothes . Natural fur very easily absorbs a wide variety of odors. When putting on a fur coat, you should be careful with perfume. The aroma of perfume, ingrained into the pile, will quickly cease to be pleasant. The same applies to other cosmetics. Avoid unnecessary contact with bare skin as sweat may be absorbed into the fur.

In addition, the fur is easily wiped off with constant mechanical stress . This is easy to notice if you constantly carry a bag on your shoulder or keep your hands in your pockets. When going out or attending an event, it is better to choose other accessories that go with a fur coat. Fortunately, there is no shortage of them now.

Compliance with all these rules and principles will allow you to keep your precious mink in excellent condition for many years and it will delight both the owner and others with its beauty.

Renewing mink fur

A mink fur coat is not a cheap pleasure, but it is all the more offensive when it loses its appearance over time. Nevertheless, restoring the attractiveness of fur is not so difficult. Let's consider the question of how to renew mink fur using simple means.

First of all, you will need a cotton swab soaked in industrial alcohol. They need to wipe the surface, especially carefully treating dirt. But you can’t be too zealous either: you don’t want alcohol to get on your skin. After complete drying, the fur coat needs to be “combed” with a special brush. After this, the fur will shine again and will delight you for a long time.

Alcohol will add shine to fur

There is another way to restore the skin to its former shine, although it is very painstaking. To do this you only need 3 regular chicken eggs. They need to be shaken until smooth and carefully (with your fingers) applied over the entire surface. Turn the fur coat inside out and leave for an hour. During this time, you need to boil the water and let it cool, but not less than 40˚C.

Chicken eggs will help restore the skin to its former shine

It happens that over time, soft fur becomes coarser. You can restore softness quite easily by resorting to folk methods. To do this, you just need to prepare a mixture of 1 egg yolk and 1 tbsp. l. Vaseline. First you need to grind the yolk with Vaseline until a paste forms, and then add 2-3 glasses of water. Treat the surface of the product with this product. And to restore elasticity, the base can be treated with slightly diluted glycerin.

You can restore softness to fur using Vaseline.

Hydrogen peroxide will help remove the yellow tint. It needs to be mixed with talcum powder and applied to the surface of the fur coat. After drying, the mixture can be removed using a fine brush. By the way, if you are wondering how to update a faux fur coat, then you can use the same method to remove yellowness.

Hydrogen peroxide will help remove the yellow tint.

The quality of a mink coat is primarily indicated not only by its appearance, but also by the inside. Conscientious sellers can show the wrong side of the skin. If a fur coat is sewn from small pieces, this indicates its low quality. The mink flesh should be moderately elastic and cream-colored. Rough misuse can cause the mink's core to become hard - it is better to seek help from a furrier rather than correct the situation yourself. Mink products do not like large amounts of moisture. Excessive humidity can cause fur to become unusable, so don’t walk around in a fur coat when it’s raining.

If it gets wet, it must be shaken off and hung on hangers away from heating devices. When choosing a product, pay attention to the color of the fur. Tourmaline is considered the most expensive color

His hair is brown and his undercoat is white. The “black diamond” is also valued. This fur shimmers under the sun's rays. The quality of mink can be determined in a simple way. It is enough to run your hand against the fur, and if the fibers quickly return to their original form, then this is high-quality fur. Mink skin is quite thin. It is recommended to handle such fur products carefully. First of all, the fur of a fur coat is wiped off on the pockets, cuffs and shoulders.

Is it possible to update a fur coat with your own hands?

Independent attempts to give fur its original appearance can also lead to unexpected consequences.

That's why! You should not trust any advice that can now be found in abundance.

At the same time, there are many proven ways to improve the appearance of a fur coat that has faded over time. It is possible to add freshness to the pile using steam, but it will be more effective to hang it on the balcony in sub-zero temperatures . This is suggested by nature itself - it’s not for nothing that fur-bearing animals look especially luxurious in the snow.

There are also ways to restore lost shine. The most common are:

  • a solution of water and vinegar, which is used to treat the pile using a sponge;
  • oil of crushed walnuts. In this case, the nuts are wrapped in gauze and the resulting swab is passed over the fur. The fibers are saturated with oil, regaining shine and additional protection from moisture.

Storage and operating conditions

Caring for a mink coat is easy. It must be protected from moisture; you cannot walk in it during rain, as the fur may become unusable. Wet clothes are shaken and hung to dry away from heat sources.

Mink skins are thin, so the fur coat should be handled carefully. Scuffs primarily appear on the shoulders, cuffs and pockets. If, as a result of improper use, the core has become rough, you must contact a saddler to correct it. You shouldn't do this yourself.

In order for clothes to retain their original appearance and color longer, they should be stored properly. In some workshops that work with natural fur, they not only clean and restore the products, but also store them in special refrigerators.

The main rule is that you cannot leave your coat folded. It is hung on hangers in a dressing room or closet and covered with a spacious cover. The fur coat must be hidden from the sun; warm, dry air is also harmful to it. In the summer it is hung in a cool room, protected from drafts.

The product must be regularly ventilated, shaken and carefully protected from moths. To do this, it is treated with repellent aerosols, and dry anti-moth preparations are placed inside the cover. Pest larvae are afraid of the cold, so it is useful to hang fur clothes in severe frost.

You should especially carefully care for a white mink coat, since any dirt is clearly visible on its surface. Even substances such as perfume, powder, and lipstick can leave unpleasant yellowish stains.

If the pile still turns yellow, the product must be dry cleaned. You can also try cleaning the fur coat yourself using talcum powder or chalk. To do this, it is laid out on a surface covered with a white cloth. The fur is sprinkled with powder on top, then shaken and combed. This method allows you to clean the product from dirt and get rid of unpleasant odors.

Features of seasonal care

You need to take care of expensive fur all the time, and not just when wearing a fur coat. Then the item will delight you with its shine and rich shade.

Winter

The weather in mid-latitudes is unstable. In both December and February, morning snow often gives way to rain, and freezes again in the evening. If the fur coat is wet, when you get home, you need to hang it on hangers and dry it, and then comb it with a brush towards the fur, and then against the pile.

A wet item should not be locked in a closet. It is not always possible to collect water from a mink; if it gets very wet, the fur coat can stretch and shrink, and it is better to take it to the dry cleaner. To sew a torn button, a durable and hard material such as leather is applied to the fur, and cotton thread is used.

A small stain on the mink is wiped with a sponge moistened with:

  • in purified gasoline;
  • in ethyl alcohol:
  • in hair shampoo.

To remove chewing gum that has stuck to a fur coat, apply a plastic bag to it, in which ice is placed. The remaining particles of gum are combed out of the pile with a brush.

Women who wear lipstick or powder foundation must tie a scarf or wear a scarf under the high collar of a fur coat or coat.

It is recommended to take heavily soiled items to the dry cleaner, but this should not be done often. Organic solvents destroy the structure over time and worsen the appearance of the fur.

Summer

After wearing a fur coat in winter, it is important to properly prepare it for storage - clean it from dirt and dry it. The crushed mink must be carefully combed, checked to see if the seams have come apart, and sewn up if this has happened.

Fur clothing must be hung on hard and durable hangers of the appropriate size. Other things should not press down on the fur coat or coat. Mink products cannot be rolled.

Before putting clothes in the closet, they need to be ventilated on the balcony or in the room, but so that the sun's rays do not fall on the product.

To restore shine, glycerin is applied to the pile by hand.

Standard storage rules

Proper handling of the item during wear (in winter) and further storage will allow it to look good for a long time. In this case, you must adhere to the following rules:

  • Do not allow sunlight to fall on the fur, and do not dry the item using a gas stove, fireplace or heating appliances;
  • wet fur should be dried only at room temperature (the fur coat should hang on hangers);
  • When wearing a fur product, you should not use handbags with a shoulder strap, backpacks, etc., so that the fur does not become wrinkled or frayed at the points of contact;
  • When wearing or storing a fur coat, you should not spray aromatic products on it;
  • You cannot decorate fur clothing with brooches and other decorations.

Before storing a fur coat in the summer, you should first check its condition. Take it to the dry cleaner and take other necessary measures to avoid doing this when cold weather sets in.

What you need to know about mink?

When purchasing, be sure to check the quality of the fur from which the fur coat is made.

  1. It should not have a lot of small parts sewn together. The underside of the skin should retain its elasticity and have a natural beige or cream color. Non-compliance with these indicators is a sign that the product was stored in violation of the requirements.
  2. Another sign of quality material is the color of the fur. In really expensive varieties it is brown or black, shimmering in the light.
  3. The quality of the pile can be checked by running your hand over it. It should not be crushed, and after the cessation of exposure it quickly returns to its original form.
  4. Do not forget that mink fur is afraid of water. If you wet it too much, the pile will fall off and the fur coat will quickly become unusable. Therefore, it should only be worn in dry weather.
  5. If getting wet cannot be avoided, then clothes should be dried away from heat sources, in a dry room, hanging on a hanger.
